Well, we do check if a new version is available - that will have to do for now.

its like transporting a single letter in a truck. I do understand you need it to integrate the screensaver, but i am primarily interested to help you guys testing the engine. Archive takes 5s to extract and run. I don't want to go through a wizzard every time you guys release a new build. Thats why i would prefer an archive as alternative download.

You can run msiexec to install from the command line, using the /q option to do it silently.

msiexec /q /I eveprobe-0.83.4416.0.msi

That should get you what you want.

It will be the new building effect when your Anchor a structure in space, it's still work in progress and we don't have a set release date yet but we hope to get in for a future release. :)

I do have a question, in the scene where the two fleets are fighting... wtf is that ship that looks like it's been cut in 1/4. It's amarrian, but never saw it before. It's about the size of a carrier.

Yaay!!!!

Howdy! I posted this to a thread about Phoebe changes on SiSi without realizing this came from EVE Probe. Hopefully I'm in the right spot to give my feedback on the construction animation.

So I saw a post on Reddit today covering the new POS onlining animations.

The effect looks nice, but I don't think it makes sense at the moment. As was brought up in the comments, why are we hauling around giant POS items when it's all digistructed out of magical space lasers?

Because of this I suggest you add something like a "POS Egg". Basically throw a structure into the center of the animation that is the source of both the lasers and the building materials. Instead of the matter/energy for the POS coming from some magical singularity at the center of the finished model, the structure is a logical housing/genesis point for what is to be the completed POS.

Other than that the effect looks great (from the stills that I see, I still haven't seen it in motion so I can't weigh in on if the effect should be faster/slower/different)

Oh and one more thing. If you plan on making stations buildable at any point, it might behoove you to think about placing the "center" of the build animation (the POS egg if you take my suggestion) off to the side of the structure, just because there will be a longish time at the end of the construction period when you won't be able to see the animation due to it all being inside the model. If you put the animation center 5km away from the edge of the completed model, you can have the POS'/Station's/Whatever's construction visible for the entire duration that it is active and then just terminate the animation at 5km from your egg. It would look cool and makes logical sense.

If this isn't where I should be giving my feedback on the construction animation, please redirect me to the proper location so that I may do so.

Hi Harkin Issier,

Thanks for the feedback, you'll be happy to know that there is a 'egg' model at the center if the effect, it just cant be seen in the EVE Probe implementation but will be clear to see when we implement the effect into the client.

This effect is not going to be POS Control tower specific but rather for any V3'd deployable structure that needs to be anchored, that is at least our current thinking. We have a while to go before we can commit this to a release but we wanted to share what we had and get some performance metrics back on the current version. :)

Thanks for the response! Given that this applies to all V3 deployables (presumably huge ones like stations or any module that is more spherical than spire-like), what do you think about putting the center of the effect off to the side of the model so you don't have this effect going on where no-one can see it? I'm picturing something like this, but with construction happening.

F yeah!
Avg FPS on 2

which is kinda amazing, considering i ran this using windows 10 tech preview.

eve online it self, runs a pretty low fps also in windows 10 tech preview, but i guess most of the fault goes to the nvidia driver not being fully compatible yet.

(... posted once on wrong thread.. im going blind i read phoebe as probe for some reason haha.)

EVE **Online - Best Game i've ever played**, i just wish i could play using plex only!

The program just refuses to work for me on Win 8.1. It won't launch unless I run it as an administrator, and when I press start the button changes to "running!" but nothing happens.
