[Video] - The Soloist Series - Solo PVP

I wanted to record myself flying spaceships. I like to look at myself and think how amazing I am at losing ship after ship and believe me I had a lot of recordings of this.

Unfortunately no one wants to see that or do they? Maybe “Eric Shang Derp Frigate” video needs to be made?

So I took some of the winning fights and started to put them together in a small movie to post on our Corporation forum so I could get some feedback from the vets of the Solo thing. I was thinking that they would praise my foolishness and I would feel good about looking like a fool.

So as I was putting it together the first time I figured I would put it onto YouTube and link to the forum and so it grew and grew and finally I just said you know what let’s just do it properly.

I am creating a Solo Series called “The Soloist” and no this is not Jamie Fox playing the violin.

I must warn that the Quality is not perfect as this is still being ironed out. The footage is from about 6-7 months ago so I do make some silly mistakes like not pressing Shift + module to Overheat and I am still a rookie when it comes to video editing and Adobe Premier.

So with that said please have a look and rate it in the comments on the video or here. If you have any tips please give them. I want to learn.

some of the fights are not so amazing, seeing how you kill afk no skill plexing alt (Abonn Mich) is not worth of watching.

Kudos for getting out there, but seein as first "fight" was vs a venture... I lost interest pretty quick. That said, the more time you spend doing what you're doing, the better the fights you will get.

So no real good feedback then.

Not interested in what you thought about the video.

I want feedback about my flying and if I am doing things incorrectly.

Like orbits. Ammo. that sort of thing.

Saying a video is bad is a given as I am new to it. I want to improve so I can make better videos.

Saying the video is terrible is pointless and does not help me.

I think I would mirror the majority of what has been said here. I don't think including these style of gank videos will be well recieved if it's not complimented by something else (Like commentary)

If you want some constructive feedback, you tend to use orbit 500 a lot when it really hurts you. Like when you're in the incursus fighting stuff (which doesn't get a tracking bonus, with highest tier guns) and you end up killing your own tracking. The best example of this would be the fight at 1:30 mins into the video when you're fighting the Atron. You can see how you do 0 damage to him for 20 seconds because you're just orbiting him at 500m (And he also has a tracking disruptor, which you did not react to). Eventually you decide to double click in space and manage to kill him. You could have also swapped ammo to Antimatter at this point because the Atron was just orbiting you tightly with AB on and tracking disruptor with tracking script.

Yah but thats whats you get when post videos here. A bunch of negative comments.

To be fair this is not bad and it looks like some of the fights must have been pretty fun as you end up winning in structure. :)

Suitonia gave you some good tips there you'd do well to take.

I don't think the comments here were that negative. People are used to seeing good pilots take on multiple targets solo and winning in eve videos so you could say that the standard of the audience here is pretty high. If you are fighting 1v1 in the same class ship as the opponent it's just taken as ordinary stuff. It doesn't mean that people are being mean. :p

You also use null when you have range control and brawl and use antimatter if you dont have range control (which didnt bite you but it really could have).

Also heating web gives range not speed. And dont use orbit vs stuff with a tracking bonus, you dont even have to manually pilot, just keep at range.

Lastly the usual, use hotkeys.
