Hi everyone, I have just two questions what I hope you can all answer.
im training up for a Tengu for a pvp/pve role and I wanted to know some of the best fittings and modules for this ship for these roles, getting one is not long away know and I would value opinion thanks.

ps I know before you guys say don't fly it unless you got good skills but im planning on focusing on the mastery levels to atleast level four before I even undock the ship Big smile

What kind of PvP and PvE are you planning on? You will most likely want separate hulls for each because of rigs.

For PvE you want the amplification node subsystem. Otherwise fitting and subsystems really depends on what you want to do in PvP and PvE

I was planning on doing level 4 mission running and some occasional pvp but would it be better if I saved 2 fittings and swap and change them as I need or buy there again it may be easier to get two tengus if that is what you mean.

I was suggesting two separate hulls, you'll probably be running T2 rigs so swapping rigs is not going to be cost efficient. The tech 3 cruisers are pretty cheap these days so you won't be out to much ISK.

For PvE a straight up T2 fit with HAMs should get you around 800 DPS with rage missiles @ ~25km. Or for 550 DPS you can go fury missiles in HML and hit out to~60km. I'm on my phone do i don't have any fits on hand at the moment but fill your lows with BCS (not uncommon to bling out two or three with CN BCS, but not needed), mids will be two hardeners, medium shield booster, booster amp, AB and a utility slot.when iget home I'll be able to provide my fit. You don't need bling to PvE well in a tengu, a T2 fit should cost <400m total.

maybe something like this:

subsystems:

-amplification node
-dissolution sequencer (very handy against guristas)
-augmented cap reservoir
-accelerated ejection bay
-fuel catalyst

low slots:

- 4x ballistic control system II

mids:

-10mn afterburner II
-pith c-type medium shield booster (around 80mil iirc)
-shield boost amp
-kinetic hardener (against guristas)
- target painter
- cap recharger

high's:

- 6 x heavy assault launcher II
scourge rage or javelin

rigs:

-2x medium warhead rigor catalyst II
-medium warhead flare catalyst II

this build works very well for pve, if you go out against sansha or blood raider, drop the target painter and kinetic hardener for 2 em resists and you will be fine. against angel 1 explosive hardener is good enough. the trick is to keep the afterburner going, 80% or more dps can be negated in pve with a little speed

it has with lvl 5 skills around 890dps (over 1k with fancy mods and implants)

off course against sansha and blood you will have less dps because of em ammo, against angel use kinetic, altough slightly even with kinetic you do more dps then with explosive.

watch out against drones...

Cheap ish 100MN PvP Tengu:

[Tengu, 100MN HAM Active Cheap]

Nanofiber Internal Structure II
Power Diagnostic System II

Core C-Type 100MN Afterburner
Dark Blood Warp Disruptor
Federation Navy Stasis Webifier
Pith B-Type Large Shield Booster
Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
Medium 'Gattotte' Capacitor Booster, Navy Cap Booster 800

Heavy Assault Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Scourge Heavy Assault Missile
Heavy Assault Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Scourge Heavy Assault Missile
Heavy Assault Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Scourge Heavy Assault Missile
Heavy Assault Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Scourge Heavy Assault Missile
Heavy Assault Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Scourge Heavy Assault Missile

Medium Ancillary Current Router II
Medium Ancillary Current Router II
Medium Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer II

Tengu Defensive - Amplification Node
Tengu Offensive - Accelerated Ejection Bay
Tengu Propulsion - Fuel Catalyst
Tengu Electronics - Dissolution Sequencer
Tengu Engineering - Capacitor Regeneration Matrix

760mil give or take 40mil for the whole fit which isn't too bad for a T3, Snakes or Crystals both work well for this fit. Does decent dps, has a good tank and has great range control and is quite hard to pin down.

way too much active tank, and will probably die to one volley from a tornado thanks to gaping EM shield hole and EXP armor hole. With the AB on and moving at decent speed you can tank lv4s with very little problems with a small booster.

that said tengu has such awful dps I wouldn't ever use it for missions. might make for a decent wormhole boat or something, and is probably pretty good at exploration content.

as far as PVP goes, seems like they do a decent 100mn AB ship, and a decent fleet railgun setup. no idea about the specifics

905 dps to 35km with Rage, 771dps to 42km with Faction, 604 dps to 63km with Javelin. Now that isn't pirate battleship level of course, but that's far from 'awful dps'. Also with this setup it has 900dps tank against Guristas and can tank even the last room of a 10/10 if you swap the target painter for another hardener.
