If you want more content, how about you ask in the F&I forums. Also, Mordus ships, burner missions, burner logi missions (are they out yet?)

Are you and your colleague mmo developers ?

No, but you don't need to be a plumber to know that it doesn't take 6 months to fit a bathroom.

Because changing (10 year old) MMO code without braking everything, is as easy as fitting a bathroom.

Some new environments, station models, anomalies or missions isn't re-writing Eve's backend. I'm talking about simple content. Go save the Damsell in distress for the 1,000,000th time why don't you?

Everybody who is new to game development wants to make an MMO. And almost all of them fail spectacularly. It's easy enough to criticize the direction CCP takes in development when you really don't know the smallest part of what it takes to run and maintain an MMO.

Ah see , they have though.
Industry, jump drive & clone, the new rendering engine(which is a step closer to ship painting).

There are massive changes going on right now.

If you don't know where the content in eve is , you're it.

Also, forum threads are often closed because they contain no content, just like your OP.
Didn't say it hasn't changed ever, said nothing of consequence has changed since ~2011.
OP contains my opinion, you don't like it, tough.

Nope, was always a cesspit. But at least it was a cesspit you could participate in without entire pages of threads getting locked. Like another poster today commented, CAOD used to be a vibrant cesspit, now its just a dead cesspit.

No one's talking about moderation here.

Here's a specific example of the lack of development.

Shortcut keys. In a fast paced combat game you think they'd be pretty important right? Flying a frigate at 5kms you can't be spending time navigating through nested context menus to find commands like Orbit At Current can you? Except you have to because 11 years on there is still no shortcut for Orbit At Current.

Shortcut keys in Eve are downright terrible. They either don't activate at all unless the right bit of the UI has focus (when the focus is almost invisible and switches between controls by itself), or they require a hand cramping combination of key control modifiers, or for some of the most basic flight controls they don't even exist at all.

I've been playing a bit of Dota 2 over the last month or so. Its UI isn't perfect by any means but you can at least custom bind almost any action or macro to whatever keybinding you want, which is hugely liberating compared to Eve's UI, and that's a game that's just a couple of years old and which is FTP. Call me demanding but I expect more from a premium subscription game like Eve and these last few years it doesn't feel like I've been getting it.

Last time I checked Overview tabs still don't even remember their individual sort order, another example of 5 year old stuff still only half implemented.

Compared to other games forums this place is a paragon of good posting and enlightened, civil discussion about engaging topics.

Go to the bf 4 forums , here's something for you.
The "Hooah" function is the same as our like button.
Quote:

Hey everyone,

While we want to encourage everyone to show their approval or agreement by using the "hooah" button, spamming someone by "hooahing" their entire feed is not allowed.

Why?
Per the EA Terms of Service, Section 11, you're in violation if you "harass, threaten, embarrass, spam or do anything else to another player that is unwanted, such as repeatedly sending unwanted messages", which would include "hooah" spamming.

"Hooah" spamming is generally done to annoy, harass or even intimidate another user, and this type of conduct is not welcome on Battlelog.

If found to be harassing others by "hooah" spamming, you will be temporarily removed from the Battlelog Community.
If you're getting spammed, please report the user to our TOS team by clicking the ! on their profile and contact a moderator/admin (do not publicly Name & Shame though).

Thanks!

The forum of any gamining community is generally pretty terrible, full of frothing neckbeards sperging on about how the devs are killing their playstyle and why their style of play is the only right way to play the game and everyone else should just have to suffer with it.

They are generally full of the sort of people that put the "fun" in the word dysfunctional.

I get the general feeling that the people who think of this forum as some kind of cesspit are the same people who don't play other games or visit other forums (or have ever used facebook or twitter...or visited a Kindergarten playground in the inner city). I've experienced quite a few (official and unofficial) for other games and this one is hands down the most tame I've ever seen.

I am constantly surprised by the incredible over-sensitivity displayed by many posters I've met here. Especially given the nature of the game these forums are centered around. I get the feeling that many of those posters wouldn't last 5 minutes in my neighborhood.

Not to mention the people complaining about ISD, not to brownnose here but as far as forum moderation goes, you can do ALOT worse than our ISD.

No, but you see this is entirely acceptable because Eve is built on 10 year old code and you aren't a programmer so how can you expect CCP to make regular basic updates to their game.

Perfect example of the kind of poster I'm talking about right here (complete with totally appropriate screen name). It seems some people can't handle blunt truth or not being coddled. Perhaps an s behind the r in your screen name would be even more appropriate hashtag OversensitiveWomanlikePoster?

Thank you for proving me right, Jenn.

This isn't even funny. You have turned into a bitter person
and that's rather sad. You too, like all the others who are infected,
do not realise how much of an ******* you have become.

And telling you is no use, because instead of a conscious, reflecting thought,
you just respond with absolutely predictable patterns.
