Pls change the brackets color/shape/whatever to differentiate Bookmarks that are ON GRID and OFF GRID

We did consider differentiating warpable vs. non-warpable sites. I'm not super excited about supporting grid-fu exploiting directly so what would your particular use case be?

Just to make sure we are talking about the same thing: im talking about a situation where im on a site, grig, gate, whatever with X on grid bookmarks and Y off grid bookmarks. And all of them looks the same.

Im not talking about diferentating bookmarks that are placed on sites vs deep space when looking from outside perspective.

I think that when you land on a grid that contains a bookmark that bookrmark visual representation in space should change and when leaving grid it should revert to regular bookmark.

Currently you ha e no way to tell if a book.ark you see on screen in a given direction is 20au away or actually 5 km in completely different direction from the ship

When you have 2 or 3 bms you can hover but in a heat of battle you need to quickly tell bms made by inties or coverts on grid from those around the system (especially in wh where we relly 100% oj bms and dont have gates to see where enemy is escaping, so we cant just turn them off)

I really like the idea, it gives great opportunities for PVP.

However I hope that the bookmarks are going to be optimized since right now when I open my bookmarks I get a delay of several seconds and in the past this also has cost me some ships and PODs.

Also please be aware that now people are going to create hundreds of bookmarks around the gate for PVP so expect a heavy overload of BM.

Keep on the good work.

Cheers,
Ochi

Well... I'll leave a "like" and a question:

Anomalies green - signatures red
I'm missing the point where it is explained why those colors needed to be changed?
I don't believe it was a need more than a desire for a more consistent color scheme now that there are more things to display. As I mentioned in the blog though this feature is still being tweaked so these colors are not necessarily final.

Thank you for the catch.
The reason for my question is: tutorials
There are a lot of good tutorials for exploration out there (written and video). Each time you change a thing, those tutorials need an overhaul, too. Mining for example changed quiet a bit during the last years, still new players fall for Haladas Mining Guide (with Osprey being the best mining ship until you get into a Hulk) which was published 2009 and hasn't been updated till then.

I'm fine with changing the brackets to enable players who experience red/green problems to see the difference. That's nice.
If only the brackets change but colors stay the same, players wouldn't need to recreate their tutorials.
There might be some new players roaming New Eden looking for those green anomalies they can warp to without using scannerprobes like they have read in a tutorial, wondering what all this orange/brown things in space might be ;)

It's a minor thing - I like the changes in total.

Would it be possible to get a 36hr/7 day/fore-ever timer on BM's.So probed wormhole-sites etc fall off the list as they expire

Give us the option to:

a) modify the opacity of the overlay icons (the red/green/purple thing).

b) modify the size of the red/green/purple thing.

Shortcut for new location, finally!!! Love you guys. For a pilot who is making lots of bookmarks, like me, it's a great change.
Change colours for different locations. Now we have two that looks like "red" and three "blue" like. Also is there a "switch off" button? I'm switching off sensor sometimes.

Very nice changes.

Both functional and attractive. Looks like it will make the experience of flying in EVE more like "future tech cockpit" and less like "click on the tab of the list of the thing you click."

My heart just jumped for joy! As a bomber pilot, I can now set up a grid of spots to align to and actually get into warp to them before I die! Less clicking and menus, more oh god oh god, just made it!

My hound says thank you.

Something that would go extremely well with this change:

The ability to open the star/system map in a collapsible window.

I use multiple monitors for my single character, and while I would love to navigate the system by the F11 mini-map, it's just too fiddly and small. On the other hand, the non-mini map spends takes up all three monitors and spends time loading. If we could have the map open on its own monitor, it would be extremely convenient, and together with Bookmarks in Space it would provide a unified sense of position in space.

Pretty please <3

Ideally, any window or widget would be able to be undocked and put anywhere and on any monitor you choose... like a desktop gadget. Chat, overview, map, notifications.... any number of things would benefit people with multiple monitors and free up tremendous amounts of screen real estate in your main gaming window.

This, so very much this. And of course the windows/widgets would remember their positions between sessions. That would make the Eve experience something else in a good way.

Well many programs (e.g. Photoshop) already do that so at least it shouldn't be impossible.

Really nice features, it would be nice to have more shortcuts to reduce the useless clicking in some places, while you are on this topic some that comes in mind are:

- start a probe scan
- start a D-scan
- recover probes

Having to go click the probe scan button after repositioning the probes is really annoying and pointless.

The sensor changes seem to be a great idea and the compass appears to be nicely done. However, the filtering options are, to me, the best part of the whole thing. This interface has so many options that make EVE the sandbox that it is. Play it as each person would like to play it and turn off or hide the options which you don't like!

On that note, how about filtering for your local chat window which would allow you to display or hide fleet, corp or alliance members??? It would seem like the option for filtering by icons in local or chats is in line with the customization direction in which CCP is heading with EVE.

Thanks for all the questions, suggestions, criticism and love so far! Its all massively appreciated! I'll try and address a few more points.

1. Can we get expeditions to show up on the compass display as well? Or even just lump them in with mission objectives? That way when I'm doing an exploration run I will know that I have passed into a system that has an expedition, reducing the need to have the expeditions window open at all times.
A nice idea! We'll discuss it and see if its possible. Right now we're focused on getting the current defects fixed in the system, before we move on to potentially adding more things.

Sure thing, we've added it just for you! Not really, it was already in, but you're welcome anyway! Blink

Loving it ! Questions:

* WILL WE EVER HAVE BOOKMARKS VISIBLE IN THE OVERVIEW ?
Is it in the pipe? or it's something CCP doesn't want to do ?
* What's the point of showing "space north" ? Who cares? What's the added value for everyone ? No one cared before, why should we care now?

thanks a lot dudes
- Personal items in the overview are generally something we want to avoid. The design choice was to keep the overview consistent for every player, meaning if you see something there, you know everyone can.
- The value of fixed compass axis will be different for different playstyles, but we hope it will primarily help with overall spacial awareness and communication between pilots. Also I think some people cared, EVE has a lot of players with different requirements!

Thanks for the feedback. We're still tweaking these colors so these may change.

I personally love this idea (Wormholes are my preferred EVE home so it makes sense), but I can say with some certainty that that won't be happening with this release. Sorry about that! Five 0 do have plans to touch things in this area again and that's on our list of things to consider when we do.
