The original intent of LAGL was to force CCP to add downvotes to the forum.
The idea was to inflate likes so much they became meaningless.

I think another part of it is there are so many resources for EVE now that aren't the forums. that and ffs how many "how do I fit CNR" threads can we have

Either they who can edit it didn't really read it or the forums are infested with millennial SJW types wielding "being offended" as a weapon.

I would forgive the former (there's a lot to cover) but for the latter, it would be a case of us looking out for "bad government" and forgetting that people can be just as bad individually and the "report post" option, being weaponized, needs to be removed.

Either way, I give less of a rats ass about the forums ever since someone offered me ISK to edit a first page dev blog thread post to influence an issue. I just rolled my eyes and a little part of my faith in the player base died a little bit.


BTW the C&P forum back in 2008 - 2010 as I remember it was fantastic.

Forums are bland because CCP gave out Fedos. People are spending their extra time with their Fedos rather than coming to the forums.

Everybody just do you part an OP a controversial that will get things going. Something like the "TEST going to war with CODE?" one, which was great while it lasted. It had a lot of the elements of an interesting thread:

-Immediately drew a "posted in wrong forum" comment
-Referenced not one, but two groups that people have strong opinions about
-Started to sidetrack into the highsec carebear vs. null sec 'leet fight
-Hard a fair amount of deadpan trolly-snark humor
-Drew in random people posting about their person off-topic gripe
-Was building up steam for some emotion and name-calling
-Got locked

Anyway, who has the list of the standard categories of E-O threads? Post it and we can some ideas and work from there.
