Is mission ship progression basically l1 = frig/Dessie, l2 = Dessie/cruiser, l3 = cruiser/bc and l4 = bc/bs? With t1 ships, so no l3 af exceptions.

Isn't it CNR->Golem? I thought marauders>pirate bs.

I *think* could be wrong for tank marauders > pirate bs
for spank pirate bs > marauders

If you do missions normally and/or choose a faction with poor to average isk/LP payout, a marauder is better due to little to no downtime wasted on looting and salvage and a huge buffer for mistakes through tank while having comparable DPS to most pirate ships.

If you intend to blitz missions due to high isk/LP items available in the faction's store, a machariel is the best option, due to the bonus to warp speed and the much better agility.

EVE is what happens when the rule of law does not apply and Darwinism is allowed to run freely.

Fly what suits you playstyle and what you can afford to lose. There is no set progression. I can do some regular L4 missions with a Assault Frigate. Should I? Sure, because it is more challenging...for me. Is it the best ship for the job? No, but if it is fun for me then I will do it.

A Macherial is a beast when it comes to L4s, but you have to be at the keyboard and piloting it. A Kronos is similarly a beast at L4 mission, but you don't have to be at the keyboard all the time. you have the option to step away to use the bathroom or get a drink without having to warp out.

There are lots of ships you can use to run missions in. Find what you like and train for it.

The only major downside to the Mach is its vulnerability to tracking disruption, sensor damps, and ECM. However if you are flying against Angels then this isn't an issue because lolpainters. So it also depends on what you are shooting at.

Nor does the Mach have a good kinetic ammo type, which hurts it a bit against Serpentis and Guristas. However it is still a top notch mission boat, just like the marauders. There is no "best" really, its all about choices and trade offs.

Wow, a sensible post. In fact, that's the best post I've seen in this forum in a long time. If I could +9001 it I would! Blink

I have an al... I mean, a "friend" who runs L4s in a Rokh. lolwut? This is far from optimal but every now and then I... I mean "she" just wants to hear the 425mm rails' almighty pewpew rather than the cruises' shewshew. For fun science.

I was thinking of doing SoE, but I'm not sure what rats they vs.
Wouldn't it be better to train pure projectiles, so I don't need to cross train to them later?

Level I's : Frigate until you can get into a destroyer (more guns, more tank) and use afterburner

Level II's: Destroyer, again afterburner

Level III: Battlecruiser (passive shield Drake is easy mode)

Level IV's: Dominix with MJD, Sentries (Faction until u can use T2. Wardens/Gardes) and drone range augs.
- Warp in, use MJD out to 100-130km from rats.
- Blap with wardens, prioritizing frig-bs
- Should BS get within range, melt them with Gardes
- If things get too hot, MJD out another 100km in direction that gives you the most range.
- Rinse & repeat.

5 yrs and the Sentry Domi is the most efficient lvl IV runner I've ever used, especially for the cost. You can fit with faction/dead space mods and still pay less than a single pirate or faction navy hull.

Rats are determined based on the faction space you are in. Minmatar space will see Serps and Angels. Caldari space will see more Guristas and Serps. Amarr space will see more Sansha and Blood Raiders.

Rats are not determined by what NPC corp you run for.

If you fly for SoE out of Lanngisi you will face mostly Angles with the occasional missions vs Serpentis. You will also get some of the "universal" missions against rouge drones and mercenaries just like anywhere else as well.

I've done all Level 1 missions and some Level 2 missions in a rookie ship - Velator. I did have drone skills maxed out.

I've done all Level 2 missions in an Atron frigate and also a few Level 3 missions.

I'm currently doing Level 4 missions in a "Battle" Procurer mining barge for grins. So far, alive and kicking!

i did the missions level 1 with a corax and a talwar. The talwar is a good ship for level 1 missions.
With regards to the level 2 missions, i started with a rupture and a stabber, but i failed. So, i decided to buy a caracal and i was not disappointed. Caracal is a very good ship for level 2 missions
For level 3, i bought the drake and i am planning to buy a raven later for level 4 missions .

Algos for level 1 Missions and some level 2
Vexor Navy Issue for any level 2 and all level 3 missions
Dominix for level 4 missions.

If you don't follow the rules, neither will I.

Don't listen to this guy he is completely outdated.

Gallente drone boats are far better and faster to train into.
