I published an article on this: Empires seek capsuleer assistance in Sleeper research!

If you don't want to support any of the 4 Navies, contract your Sleeper Salvage (Neural Network Analyzers & Sleeper Data Libraries) to Guillome Renard , who wants to use it to support a more equal dialogue between capsuleers & Empire.

You can find more explanation here: The Research race of YC116 by Guillome Renard

Well, which empire do you want not to have the tech the least?
If you don't care, it's okay. But one will get it first, so who do you hate most and who less so?

It should be safe as long as there's no fleet emerging going to something unknown.

Why donate, you will have to train for what ever it is no matter which faction it's for anyhow. Not like you can train 2,3 or 4 skills anyhow if it's faction based.

Hmmmmm Sleeper tech? Navy intervention? Sounds like Tech 3 battleships to me.....Cool

In my opinion (which no one really gives a rats patoot about) lore wise, it's time for an advancement in Tech 3 class ships. Corpies have been discussing it and some think T3 frigates, most think T3 battleships.

I'm on the battleship side of things. Frigates don't have enough fitting flexibility to make a decent t3. Battleships on the otherhand have many more fitting slots available and are a seemingly logical choice for advancements in Sleeper tech.

With the changes in Jump Drive mechanics, could Tech 3 battleships be our path to battlefield glory?

A cloaky, nullified battleship? Scarrrry.

I shall be patient....mostly.

... sigh.. I'll bite...

It can be one of.. oh a dozen things, the most likely scenario is a T3 ship. Most likely, it will be either a Frigate or a Destroyer (yes I said it, a T3 destroyer). This is assuming that they want to start exploiting those frigate holes nobody uses.

One of the other options, isn't a ship, but its equipment. The major "fear" is that empires won't be able to access lovely T2 equipment due to the jump freighter changes, so a "solution" to that is for either a) use wormhole salvage and blueloot to create Wormhole Equipment (onpar with T2 but still different) b) start straight out dropping wormhole equipment from sites (aka, Super Sleeper Loot Rats).

I don't see the T3 battleship as an option, mainly because it would encroach too much on the Marauder, Black Ops (when they get their rebalance), and the current T1 Battleships.

They already tested the concept with the Nestor, and for that ship to really make a difference, it would need a covops cloaking device. The problem is is that the ship would be WAAAY too powerful with a covops cloak. It'd be able to take blackops bridges, cloak at anytime, and basically pwn the field.

You launch a legion of T3 battleships with the same ability..... 0.0, wormhole space, etc would turn into nothing but Battleship Cloaked Online.

I don't see a T3 battleship (does not provide enough to the game). Not to say that is what they are doing, but they wouldn't be able to be balanced in any credible way, especially due to their future potential cost.

Most likely, you are looking at a Frigate or Tanked Destroyer, or actual wormhole equipment.

Assuming sanity prevails, its probably one of those three.

Again, that is pure assumption based on 0 evidence. For all we know this is all a giant scam to release a new "buy now" ship skin Shocked

Edit: I'll clarify on why a destroyer and its probable role.

Eve needs a hunting probing ship. Currently, if you want to combat probe, you are using a T3 Cruiser, maybe the Stratios, or some maligned ship and some alt that is fit solely to probe. There is room for a probing smaller sized ship, that is combat fit. The likely most combat capable ships, that isn't used to enough extent in Wormhole Space, would probably be the destroyers. Now we use interdictors all the time, but usually they die in a ball of flames (that's fine). A T3 destroyer, that can combat probe.. maaaybe cloak, would be of some use to actual hunters and killers, as there really is no frig or destroyer that can do that.

Adding a interdiction bubble would be too powerful, but a cloaking destroyer capable of combat probing is a hole that hasn't been filled yet in eve.

Is it sane to create, with the added cost..... who knows. Eitherway, that's my speculation, insane or not.

Personally, I would prefer actual wormhole equipment. People prefer loot vs a single shiny ship that they may or may not fly.

Yaay!!!!

CCP's more likely to change the fuel type for all jump ships to require consumable sleeper materials than do that.

And now I just jinxed all wormhole space :-/

Sure doesn't feel like science is even a valid profession. Maybe someday you'll create an actual interface for science and actually make it workable and useful and not depend upon NPCs.

I'm not a fan of the all or nothing reward system and I think it discourages participation.
As for having loyalty to a faction, I gave up on that when I moved to wormhole space. Wormhole space has it's own factionless RPing which is far stronger in the community than any ties to Empire Navies.

I genuinely love the idea of introducing changes with events and lore but I think this is the wrong way of doing it.
If I end up participating in this it will probably be through Guillome Renard's campaign.

Low class wormholes need some love but having the option to gamble your loot in a community event is not fun gameplay.
