Ok I'm very glad that ccp is coming back to improve ships, but sadly I think they are being unfair, while I'm glad of all the combat features, miners has been totally ignored, even they are being ignored on the new gift feature that they just put online, I like being a miner and as a secondary I'm a mission runer, I like from time to time to do PVP but in little ccp ignore miners, if ccp continue a normal evolution of the history they could have created a module to help survival of the Mining Ships, new modules or skills for mining or any other kind of solution (so far i have thought at least 7 and ccp have a lot of imagination) so I think that ccp should get up from the chair and upgrade the mining ships.

Also is cynical how they say on the page that in the gift packages there is something for everyone, I'm a miner and i didn't found anything that i could use.

From what I understand, CCP is going to get around to fixing the mining thing. I really hope they fix it soon though.

I want my light and sound show back. I even suggested a couple of times that the lasers on a Strip Miner should be configured to have 5-15 lasers (10 for a T1, 15 for a T2, and 5 closely concentrated at the laser point of impact with the asteroid) plus the tractor beam laser in the center. Then these lasers would rotate around the tractor beam laser in the middle like that big laser drilling system from the movie "Core". I want 3 of THOSE on MY Hulk.

A second idea would be to make mining selectively interactive.

If the mining lasers/strip miners are activated and left in their default AI mode (artificial intelligence mode) that they run on now, they would simply continue to do as they do now. However...

...if you were to activate your lasers and switch them into manual mode; you would get an interactive animated "cut scene" that would allow you to use the different parts of the mining device as seperate tools and only mine the parts of the asteroid you wanted. If you were to manually mine the asteroids you would actually yield a SLIGHTLY higher ore yield and would reduce your refinery costs and wastes because you have already just MANUALLY partially refined it WHILE you were cutting it up with your mining lasers/strip miners.

Also the mining drones need to be refined as well. Not only do they look idiotic but they function as well as a one legged man in an a** kicking contest. Even the harvester drones are pathetic. AND they are 10m3 each??? WTH? Mining drones need a SERIOUS revamp.

I think all this together would make mining more interesting again.
