Good morning capsuleers,

It's a bit early in the day, but we've decided to give you this Dev Blog a little earlier than usual.

CCP Fozzie is here to talk about how you can get your hands on some new tech in the coming months, by assisting the faction navies with gathering equipment for their research.

Take a look, and read all about it here.

Donations are now closed! The four empires got a huge surge of donations in the last day of the event, and the results will probably surprise many people.

We're going to be revealing the results including:
  • The order of the Empires
  • Who the biggest donors were for each faction
  • What tech this is leading towards
at the EVE Vegas Keynote this Saturday! The Keynote will be broadcasted live for free on our Twitch.tv channel.

We're going to save the full info for Saturday, but I will reveal that between the four factions, the total collection was:
  • 556,166 Neural Network Analyzers
  • 610,213 Sleeper Data Libraries

That's 2,997,018 total points, or the equivalent of 149,850,900,000 ISK at NPC buy order price.

Huge congrats to everyone who participated, including all the people who donated to Guillome Renard's excellent 3rd party campaign. I think you will be happy with where this story is leading.

Nah. You just wanted the first post ;)

I like the idea of players actually influencing the lore. Hell, I didn't know there was all this lore for a year or two after I started playing because it was not very visible. While I don't plan on participating because I can't be bothered to go into WHs, I do hope this continues.

This sounds fun!

But what is to stop people from just buying up a bunch of the Neural Network Analyzer and Sleeper Data Library items on the market in order to "win," instead of actually hunting sleepers?

Meanwhile, hmmm, maybe I should plan a wormhole roam this week...

My first impression is that I have practically no chance of being the top donor for a faction, so why even take part? All factions will get the same tech anyway no matter the player action. I guess my suggestion would be that you move more towards the alliance tournament reward system, where people outside the top position have something to look forward to and a reason to give their best even though it won't be enough for first place.

So either sell loot in npc stations for isk . . . Or donate it to npc where you may get the 1 person that turns the stuff in gets the glory while the other 30 that have worked with them get double nothing. Just letting you know :)

The only people that are going to 'win' this event are people that have a stockpile of blue loot, so going out and trying to get said blue loot to win this event in the time allotted seems kinda pointless. Other then that i suppose its all kinda neat.

It sounds neat, but it also seems it will be a one sided slaughter rather than a race. Someone some where probably has stacks of these that they have been saving for a rainy day.

So uhm, how many more side projects and stalling will you guys come up with before you actually start working on T3 rebalance. I realise I sound quite bitter and all that but it's getting a bit silly now.

Oh WoW! I've done one of these world even loot collection things before. But it was in 2005 in some other game whose name escapes me. Something to do with a desert and worms and stuff.

I think the chances to be on top are much higher, because I suspect most WH corps will not bother, since we dont care which hisec faction gets what and when...
