I just got the Gnosis and it's awesome for what i needed to do(taking down pirate npc near asteroid belts in low sec but i was wondering how it stacks up in pvp against other battlecruisers that you acually need skills to fly? I only got this ship because i was having trouble with the pirates in .04 lowsec using my catalyst. Compared to that the Gnosis makes it look like child's play.

Once you get the skills to fly another BC you'll find it much better than the Gnosis.

Well... the Gnosis IS a battlecruiser... so of course it will make a destroyer look like nothing when it comes to brawling.

Compared to other BCs though...

- it can't active tank like the Myrmidon, Brutix, or Cyclone.
- it can't buffer tank as well as the Myrmidon or Prophecy
- it not as ganky as a Brutix
- it is quite possibly the slowest battlecruiser in the whole line-up

What the Gnosis excels at is...

- being an option for wealthy newbies with no/few skills to play with a bigger toy without the thing imploding under its own weight (due to lack of support skills).
- being decent at many things
- being a bigger target than normal compared to other BCs (because it is considered "shiny")

In addition to Shah's listed pro's, It is also roughly twice as agile as the other BCs.

The Gnosis is also used as an 'near' insta locking gate/station camper. I've also had success with it as a decent drone/blaster shield brawler as well.

This is pretty much all the Gnosis excels at, its got the mids and tank to be a cheap instalocker in lowsec (compared to Legion/Loki). For combat purposes other Battlecruisers will outdo a Gnosis most of the time.

... to add one more thing:

If you've got a trader/trucker/indy alt and want to grind standing without training more than a bare minimum of combat skills, the gnosis is your PvE ship.

You can easily do lvl 3 missions in any setup you like and you only need any racial BC skill @ 1.

Wonderful ship for minimalists.

... and one last thing: in a group of 2-5, it is great for C1 and C2 Wormhole daytripping. That way you put the probing bonus and the omni resist profile to good use.

The Gnosis definitively has its uses, be it as supertanked bait (happened to us yersterday; kudos to the Yulai guys btw), unpredictable PvP ship or whatever. The limit is your imagination alone.
Yes, for (nearly) every use it has, there is a racial BC doing exactly the same thing better. But many people like it for its versatility and unpredictability. It's a good idea to have one or two around, preferably together with a large stash of fittings...

The Gnosis is incredibly light and agile. On-grid it's a snail, but it'll get into warp quicker than any other BC. This, combined with it's large cargo hold make it a decent hauler in a pinch.

It's somewhat useful for wormholes because it's mass is so low.

It's great for non-combat oriented characters to use to grind standings through combat missions. With even moderate support skills, it'll do level 3 missions pretty easily.

I used a pair of them add DPS while bashing some offline POSes with my mining/hauler alts. The results were...impressive.

On paper, you can make a really mean gank boat out of one for more combat-oriented characters, but in practice it usually dies first because of it's paper tank and the whole "Oooh, primary the Gnosis!" factor.
