DO NOT SELL OXYGEN/HYDROGEN ISOTOPES

Hello friends,
Today I have become privvy to a major market manipulation taking place in Oxygen Isotope and Hydrogen Isotope markets
There is some large entity with massive amounts of materials who keeps manipulating prices downwards.

I have poured several dozen billion ISK into trying to stop them in the past 24 hours but they simply have too many mats; mad men I tells ya! Thankfully I was able to sell off with minimal losses, but still... these prices are falling by the day and there aint nothing a lowly player like myself can do

So I call on you, the procurers of blue ices and glacial masses, and the logistics squads responsible for selling it, to stop doing it. Just STOP SELLING when you see the price drop by more than 0.01 ISK. Sure 0.5 ISK doesn't seem like it matters at ~850 ISK a pop, until they do it 4x a day, 7 days a week. Then you're suddenly losing 14 ISK a week. If holding off on selling doesn't work for you, turn your topes into fuel blocks! The fuel block market, while I'm sure it has problems of it's own, more accurately represents the value of the mats that make it up.

TLDR is stop feeding the market manipulators by matching their orders. Hold onto your mats or turn them into fuel blocks instead.
Or hell if you're rich enough, keep buying them out. It's worked for me in other markets, I just don't got the capital for this one. If you do, have at it hoss!

Note that they have infected all markets, it was just Jita and Hek for the longest time until they realized half the suppliers moved shop elsewhere. I can confirm it is the SAME PEOPLE doing it in all the markets, if you are unsure yourself go some small amounts of mats when you see it happening and you'll see the names are the same.

There is always some form of market manipulation taking place its part of the game. If it wasn't the isotopes then it would be something else.

I follow the isotope market quite closely and I don't see anything to suggest Oxygen isotopes are being manipulated. Just supply/demand my friend.

Hydrogen Isotopes on the other hand are being butt raped with a chainsaw at the moment. It would seem the main markets are being price reduced, so a pretty good time for buyers.

This again? If I weren't on the toilet I'd cross check the authors of each and link the last thread about this.

Isotope price drop -> ice price drop -> cheaper fuel for cap & POS -> profit.

what else ? =]

Watch out for that hydrogen market. there is some fishy business going down.

In red we can see a confirmed manipulation, in orange a suspect 2nd order that is probably part of it.

ive been playing this market for some 2 years now, and let me tell you this is likely a corp/alliance with many POS towers that wants to keep prices down.

the non-manipulated price should be about 855, right now as of this post it is at 815. sucks but really, if you arent a big entity or some nutty multiboxer good luck lol. it is far easier to keep prices down then up, you need more capital than the manipulator to reverse his trends, if you dont like it just make fuel or wait

I don't think this is news to anyone. This has been going on for some time. Sometimes they manipulate prices down and other times up again.

Down is better.

Or this is how markets work =P

Someone probably hauled in a bazillion units of goodies from some a** end of nowhere, and put it all up in one go.

They don't care about your margins. Calm down, and sit it out.

Not sure why the OP is referencing Oxygen isotopes? They are the only tope market not being manipulated right now.

It would seem the holders of towers got fed up of paying high prices for their fuel and have entered a gruesome campaign to bring the prices down. The manipulation of prices is quite clear, as the reduction in order values do not represent that of simple deflation. Unfortunately the game has very little in design to counter this.

Do consider who has an interest in keeping prices down. It's the largest groups with the largest amount of towers. No thread is going to change that, and you'd have to be worth hundreds of billions of ISK to take a shot at reversing the trends yourself.

The best chance at seeing a reversal here are game changes that reduce the viability of shipping materials from high-sec to null-sec. If it were more viable for them to mine out their own resources, they wouldn't have such ample reason to push prices downwards.
