Why is there no outrage over the xmas gifts?

Seriously?

Great gifts, yes, I will not lie about that. However....

What about the people who make destroyers?
What about the people who make POS fuel blocks?
What about the people who sell implants with LP?
What about the people who sell faction ammo with LP?

All of the above people are getting boned by the promotions. CCP is breaking the sandbox by spawning items from magic GM powers that are normally player created and/or player seeded on the markets. This sets a very dangerous precedent for future NEX Store / promotions. The only thing on the list that is a true gift is the remap. Anything else is intentionally f*cking the people who normally work those markets.

My $0.02, not trolling for once.

What about them? Most people will take the Aurum to buy more useless crap. The gifts will have zero impact on markets.

Oh, and if you take any of the medium or large ammo's feel free to contract them to me. I use the sh!t, I don't sell it. :)

lol... no one has ever said that phrase in honesty. (If people aren't trolling, it doesn't even occur to them to say it. Only trolls feel the need to add the disclaimer.)

Obviously I'm in the minority. I just don't think it is right. Sure, the gift don't suck. I'm not arguing that. However they do break the sandbox in a way and set precedence on future CCP actions.

Take that for what you will... it's my opinion. I went with the remaps anyways.

Back in 2005 I used to collect criminal dog tags. They were useless and people all but gave them away. Then camp LP and some of those dog tags were going for 8 mill each. Yes, I made billions.

Aurum is junk. Today. How long do you plan to play EVE?

I'm going for the faction torps. Might last me a few days.

Impact on market... negligible as once I'm out, I have to start buying again.

…because the offers of stuff that already exists on the market is less valuable than the ones that offer (slightly) unique or different items, so no-one in their right mind will go for those.

While I agree with your valuation of the items, I think you vastly over estimate the general intelligence of some of the players.

With the exception of the fuel block BPOs and the hanger decorations, all the gift items are things that will be used up in short order.

Let's all have a vote on something to rage about this week.

I vote that we rage about there not being something in this game. Here are some ideas:

Ponies
Puppies
Kittens
Launchers for ponies, kittens, and puppies
Wet Bar in the CQ.
Hookers in the CQ (unless the backstory says that clones are rather, uh.... lacking...)
Pimp clothes in the Nex. Mac Daddies sound off
The fact that the only cool Intaki hairdo since they got rid of the mullet make us look like Snape
Why I can't hang around in the CQ in my undies and dirty t-shirt
Where is Scotty?
CCP Santa Claus Fleet giving out toys to all the good players..... oh wait.... there are no good players

Bring back DEEEEP Space!

In principle, yes I'm pretty upset.

In practice, there is a wide enough variety of offerings that I don't think it will really affect any markets. Only the booster producers are at much risk, and since they are all nullbear CCP catamites, who cares.

Maxim 6. If violence wasn’t your last resort, you failed to resort to enough of it.
