I wonder if there are some nifty things going on behind the scenes, esp if they are planning unification in the future.

But, and though i firmly think its going to flop or not hurt eve that much, that vaporware game seems to have some weaklings worried.

OMG Comet Mining idea!!! Comet Mining!

Look at any trade hub undock.

Be glad collisions are how they are.

That game is amazing.. It's like minecraft in space.

I discussed stuff with people, and figured out mining drones didn't always circle rocks firing backwards. They used to dock on the rocks to mine them, but since they were sometimes floating off the rock CCP had to fix it.

My question is why is this a bad thing for them to be flaoting in one spot but mining the asteroid in the RIGHT direction. I am assuming it was easier than fixing the hitboxes to do this though right? Because all the asteroid hitboxes are twice the size of the actual rock, which becomes very irritating when trying to fly around them.

Oh, I perfectly understand, Hal Morsh — a mission like this requires courage, skill, and heroism… qualities you are clearly lacking. Have you forgotten you're one of the bloody immortals!?

The hex patterns on the cloaked ships seem a step to making this happen. Am I right CCP?

It also terrible that cover helps the attacker and hurts the defender close to structures.

I remember at fanfest maybe 3 years back they demoed advanced damage effects that included shield impacts, armor impacts, and inevitable hull damage (holes in your ship) . Cant find the video but they said at the time implementing such effects would cause huge strain on the server.

As far as the high rez models and better graphics they have said that its on the table but its a lot more work than it seems to implement.

I'd love the game to look more beautiful but i think there are other things that are more important.

Actually the issue was to do with most peoples computers not having a high enough end graphics card to support the effects yet. It was all based on DX-11 Technology which a lot of EVE players can't support.

I have to agree with OP, a slight increase in realism would be nice. Here's a simple example.

When you shoot at a ship that's still in shields there would be a graphical deflection, almost like a sphere that illuminates upon missile laser or projectile impact until the ship is out of shields, only then the impact is straight onto the Armor/Hull as it is now.

its something id love to see in EvE. Collision onto shields effect 1st.

It's hilarious. Well it's sad actually,
because OpenGL supports tesselation FOR MANY MANY YEARS!

Look at the avatar of Solecist Project ... how much realism do you crave?
