Okay, EVE is not dying, but it has contracted a terminal illness and needs a surgeon to save it.

Without a doubt, EVE is declining in terms of active players. Around 16 months ago, there were 45k+ players online at EU primetime, now we're lucky to scrape 35k. In terms of the metagame, the game is also going through a sharp period of decline. There have been no notable wars, invasions, scams or plots in the last few months - keeping the game out of the media spotlight.

With the new player experience harsh, and the old-player experience stagnant, EVE is going through a very tough period right now.

As I said, EVE needs radical change. Not tomorrow, but today. CCP need to be brave, they need to get out of the knife and amputate the gangrenous parts of the game.

Change happens today, not tomorrow.

CCP can't afford to wait any longer.

Yep, it's hard to believe CCP are sitting around refusing to make any big controversial changes in the near future.

Very hard to believe.

We should feed it bacon. Bacon makes everything better. There was this one time that I was almost dead, and then I ate bacon. Suddenly I wasn't almost dead anymore.

Or maybe I wasn't almost dead. Maybe I was just fine. Yeah. that's what it was. I was completely fine, and I wanted some bacon.

So the moral of this story is: bacon.

CCP must take a risk, it must risk everything it has worked toward up until this point. It must risk itself both financially and creatively.

EVE may not survive the next 2 years, but unless CCP is willing to completely reformat (redesign) key aspects of the game - we are all going down to the crapper. Gradual changes to null sec just won't cut it.

EVE is the last true bastion of player-driven gaming, and CCP must do everything in its power to save it.

CCP has a special forum area where new players such as the OP can share their sage advice and vast experience in the gaming industry and bring matters of such magnitude to CCP's attention:

This isn't about new features or new mechanics, it's about a radically changing the philosophy of CCP.

We need radical action in the next few months to completely redesign EVE Online as we know it.

We need CCP to risk every penny in their bank to save the world's greatest and only sandbox.

We need it now, not tomorrow.

Otherwise, I fear it will be too late.

I don't know, man. That sounds an awful lot like an idea to me.

A bad one, for sure. But an idea, nonetheless.

I say we organise a peaceful protest outside the CCP HQ. We must fight to protect our livelihoods.

I heard my money was declining in value, so I completely redesigned it into confetti. Now its value has stabilised.

Some folks just can't afford to be online as much.

PLEX costs, real life and real life economics... some folks may live a pampered life -- many do not.

But, please... continue with the dribble... because one ERA in EVE is dying... but a new one is about to begin. Lol

Funny thing is.

Heard that before:

and now...and yet, we are still here.

Sure, there will be dips, but we can't have peaks if there aren't dips too.
