soo :D i play the Game since 2 days and subscribed after playing the aura Toturial (watched hours/weeks of sirLivingston/JhonnyPew vids before...and read the Altruist Guid before sleep instead of a Book ^^) now my idea is it Wise or smart to skill into a Barge and try to ice mine or to mine any higher highsec ore like Plagioclase Pyroxeres or scordite and than skilling for anything essential like into T2 frigates T2 cruisers and all support cap/cpu and Gunnery skills to 4 or 5 or do i need the support cap and cpu skills first ?

Do yourself a favor and stay away from mining. It's the most boring thing you can imagine. (target rock, hit F1, wait until cargo is full)
If you need isk start with missions. The skills you need for PvP are very similar to the skills you will need for missions.

Oh, and welcome to EVE.

Before you even think about looking into T2 frigs you better practice with T1 frigs with cheap t1/meta fittings. Nothing says useless than seeing your dual prop mod wolf with lasers die to a merlin. For income, I suggest FW. Get LP, exchange LP with the highest ISK/LP ratio and sell it in jita(Don't haul it yourself you're just asking for a gank if you're a newbie).

Post with your NPC alt main and not your main main alt!

Welcome to EVE ONLINE!

If I find a Rubik's Cube, I'll give you one ...
... until then you can go f* yourself without it. (to paraphrase CCP SoundWave here ^_^)

Anyhow ... don't skill up for something more expensive and then try to master it.
That will not only cost you tons of time wasted and worked,
but also will only frustrate you.

The best way to learn how to fight is by learning it early on,
while it's still cheap for you to do so.

Don't fall for the "I need to have massive skillpoints to compete"-trap.
It's not true. Don't listen to people who tell you otherwise.

Also ... don't waste your time mining. Instead find something that's actually fun while you make isk ...
... and actually PLAY at the same time!

Isn't that awesome?

You can PLAY, have fun AND make actually nice amounts of money!

All at once!

That's nothing MINING would ever allow you to achieve!

Incredible ..................... *sighs*

Don't do this.

Instead, as you seem to want to focus on combat ...
... go find a PvP corp ... and let them teach you.

Don't run missions for ISK. There are more engaging and fun ways
to make money than playing solo or afk.

Avoid "new player friendly" corps that do not have include PvP,
because they will most likely leave you alone and bore you to death.

If you want someone to play with ... feel free to send me a mail! (:

Gas mining is amazing. Probe out sigs, find wormhole. Probe out gas, ninja in a venture, make Isk, risk life.

You can also wreck mine. Probe out mission runner, salvage their ships, laugh as they cry.

Yaay!!!!

You are seriously suggesting picking up scrap metal from wrecks as an ISK income? Even mining is better then that.

No it's not.

While you *) only look at the income here,
he also looks at the engagement of the activity itself,
which is worth far more than just scrapping money together.

It is more important that the new player has fun and is engaged in something ...
... than it is that he hoardes up money.

Scrubs ... *sighs*

OP, most of the people responding to you secretly mine and love it. They are trying to discourage you from it in order to keep ore prices up. They are also encouraging you to PvP so you have to replace ships frequently...and ships are made out of, you guessed it, ore.

When that mining laser crackles over a cold rock in space....MmMmmMm...it's orgasmic.

Well, even if you fit your T2 frig right, you might die to a T1 frig which has a fit that counters yours and is flown properly to take advantage of that. You may also die to a lot of other things. And that will cost you a lot.

So the advice you should take from the quoted post is to practise with T1 frigs, as much of what you will learn (and you will still learn a lot, as knowledge is good, but practise also necessary) is applicable to T2 frigs as well. And some of what you will learn is how to die less ;D

Then you could just as well do the missions yourself and pick up the loot instead of waiting and scanning for some left over wrecks, but thats just my logic.

Scanning, Jonnypew guides are good for that, takes a day or 3 to get those skills. While you scan and hack, you can train for PvP skills. Also, combat probe scanning in PvP is a good skill to have and data/relic/combat site scanning prepares for that.

Just get out of highsec ASAP.

Faction Warfare and Exploration (Data/Relic sites) are 2 good newbie-friendly ISK-making activities, that pay more than mining and that you can do in lowsec, while learning how to survive.

For PVP, join a PVP corp.

Shut up, dude.

I do not like the men on this spaceship. They are uncouth and fail to appreciate my better qualities. I have something of value to contribute to this mission if only they would realize it. - Bill Frug

Or you could of course not fall for the "I'm new, so I must mine" trap and just go do what ever you like to do.
