Hi, I'm just over a week old and it seems that I've already messed things up.

I tried to create a second account, under my existing user name, using a boxed edition GTC . I was told I couldn't do this and prompted to choose another user name, which I did, and a new account was created.

At this point I was prompted to download the game, but didn't do so as I understand multiple accounts can be run via one copy of the software.

I now find that I am unable to access the game at all - not even my existing character which I've been playing for over a week.

What did I do wrong and how do I rectify the situation?

Please provide more details. What is the error message?

If you take all the sand out of the box, only the cat poo will remain.

I'm sure there are more elegant ways to fix your problem, and hopefully someone posts them:

In the mean-time....

uninstall and reinstall the game client.

Once you can log in with an account you can set up that single client to run multiple accounts.
- The exact way to do this varies by operating system
You'll want to search the forums for 'dual-boxing'. There are a couple of articles which describe setting it up for multiple clients for each operating system.

I'm afraid I haven't tried it yet, so you'll have to search or wait for better informed posters.

I don't think you can log in with a trial account at the same time you are logged in with a full account though. So don't get worried if you see an error to that effect.

There isn't one. The Crucible screen comes up briefly, then disappears. That's all that happens.

Find the repair.exe in the client folder and let it do it's magic.

Thanks - I didn't know about that function.

Stage one complete - I can now access my original account, but there's no sign of the second one.

Log in with the other account.

I recommend running in window mode with window identification turned-on when using multiple clients.

I regularly run with 4 account, but have managed up to 6 clients before my computer gets upset with me.

Account names only show up in the drop-down box on the login screen if you've typed them in on that client before.

Check out the EVElopedia article on running multiple clients if you're interested in playing both accounts at the same time.

Bingo! That's cracked it.

Thanks for that - I expected the new user name to appear automatically, as the original one did. (Or maybe it didn't? Can't remember. Oops)

Many thanks to everyone for their help.
