Do you think we could expand the EVE Universe?

Lets say you're wardecced, right? Your being station camped and all you have is your trusty republic fleet firetail and a Ricky Bobby'esque desire to go fast....WANNA GO FAST, WANNA GO FAST!

But if you do....'ol Wardeccer Joe and his band of muppets are going to pew pew the poo poo out of you....yikes! Hope your clone is up to date.

So what do you do? Stand in front of your ship and muse to yourself how it looks like a bug. Walk up and down the ramp...sit on the couch, give yourself a haircut or a new shirt? All valid options but become tedious and boring.

Why don't we have mini-games or like an EVE internet or extranet? A gambling function would be pretty bad ass....imagine that. We all sync up to a machine, virtual poker or slots and we do it with ISK of course. That would be a fun way to give the stations a boost plus create a whole new subculture within the EVE universe.

It would also add to the social aspect of EVE. There would be master poker players that would play on EVE because it would be fun. The EVE marketplace is a digital icon and one of the best functioning markets in the world today and why not expand on things like that?

EVE to me is a lump of clay. Its a great lump of clay and has the potential to be molded into an almost "second life" kind of game (no, not the actual game second life...think Bruce Willis Surrogates except not lame and doesn't suck) You know what I mean?

DEVS, Rattati....could EVE be expanded in this way? Would it be difficult to do? Would we be able to have some kind of mini-game network? How could this change the EVE culture the way it exists? Obviously it would be fun to be in the station and being as the UI is there and the whole "in-station" thing is there (which is really rad btw) why not maximize it?

Also....could we lay down on the couch? Lay down on the bed? How could we simply expand the EVE captains quarters to be moral personable and fun?

Could it be done?

TL;DR - Please consider making the stations more fun and useful to be in and/or interact with

You've just started a thread in the only mini-game we need in EVE.

Actually, half the time it seems that this is the game proper and that thing you log in to to spin ships is the mini-game.

Technically I cannot play EVE at this very moment. I'm at work...have a business to look after but like to chat with corp mates or build ships or mine or do whatever while I'm at work. However, while I'm sitting in the station at work....it would be cool to play some type of gambling mini-game in EVE.

Station fodder...something to do whilst I wait on customers to decide what they want to do or come pay on their accounts Ugh

Or you could just use the player-created services that are already there.

They are going to expand it by nerfing fast travel, like jump drives, Jump bridges and Jump clones.. or that is what they said in the o7 vid. Enjoy.

Log off
AFK

Post with your NPC alt main and not your main main alt!

-1 that idea. Gambling is addictive and has nothing to do with blowing up internet spaceships in a blowing up internet spaceships game. Be like sitting in your house playing internet spaceships when weather is awesome outside.... click the undock button and gamble you will live if you are that bored.

OP, all of your questions about Avatar (WiS) content has been asked by numerous players for years. You can find various threads on that topic in the sub-forum Features & Ideas Discussion.

And yes I agree, it would be great to have that content available in-game. Unfortunately ever since the Incarna Incident CCP has become gun-shy towards WiS.

+1 for trying to unlock The Door.

It's a spaceship game about spaceships. It's not an avatar game about walking around ... doing nonsensical stuff to appeal to some role-playing urge. Being locked down in your station is evidence you haven't gotten a handle on
the actual game, yet. Being able to have an avatar get on its knees and roll dice (like some fancy SWTOR light sabre moves..only...different) is just a way to avoid the obvious. You've gotten yourself stuck. Like many said already,
unstick yourself.

CCP, don't listen to these WiS "gunshy" advocates. They really want to play WoW in space stations.
Your player base doesn't.

Paradise is like where you are right now, only much, much better.
