Okay, yeah, the names suck, but i must make two counter points to the general complaints many seem to be having.

T1 (meta 0) mods ~should~ suck compared to the others. They are like pirate faction modules in that you can't just build them on demand and depend on getting them (directly or indirectly) through loot drops. This is a good thing.

They are still used as the base mod for t2 manufacturing. If you could 'just build' meta mods, the value of loot drops would go down even more. Mining with your guns was nerfed heavily (and imo, rightfully so) but taking away all value from drops really would kill ratting as a income base.

The name changes suck, repeated cause they really do suck.

I am happy with the new salvage drone visual effect for the salvage rays. It was the generic bland thin laser before, now it is a proper, purifying salvage ray. I don't remember seeing this mentioned in the patch notes, though.

The stealth hexagons, unfortunately, are ugly and look cheap.

Very disappointed that CCP decided that smaller countries do not deserve their own language channel anymore. In many MMOs social interaction is a key for player retention, but I guess with the generally autistic player base such is not the case for EVE.

I understand the desire to simplify the decision between different modules and the need to give meta modules a tangible difference. These things make sense from a game design point of view.

However, the naming scheme is terrible! It does not give a clear indication of the module's attributes. At a glance a what advantage does a 'Ample Light Missile Launcher' give me? Or what's the difference between a 'Scoped Cargo Scanner' and an 'Enduring Cargo Scanner'? How will these prefixes work when other modules are re-balanced? Will I still have to show info to see exactly what 'Ample' means in the context of a different module?

I have a suggestion. Perhaps if you want to show a clear, quick and concise difference between different meta levels of module, you could use the module description. Currently all meta levels of Missile Launcher are described as:

Quote:
Favored by many for its average capacity and firing rate. Useful in both fast attack raids and longer battles.

Hardly inspiring or informative!

Saying all that, we've been here before and I expect the same reaction as before.

Hi,

I play 2 accounts, dual monitor. My second monitor is small (19 inches, 1366x746 game resolution - UI scaling 90%).

When you dock, there's a window with station services icons, guests in the station etc.
Before patch, I could drag the length (top to bottom) of that window all the way up so I could fit a small "chat" window with intel channels under it. It would fit ok.
After the patch, the minimum length I can drag the window "up", so I can fit the same chat window with intel channels under it is so big that I can no longer fit it. It seems to me there's more space (even with the new buttons added) to drag that window's length even more up.

Thought to report it.

Kind regards,

hey, having major issue - can't get my second launcher to update! the first is updating ok, if creating a new launcher window for whatever reason, but the second is just not connecting to the server!

quick edit: as far as I can see, there is no difference in the shortcuts I'm using, or the launchers!

For posting an idea into F&I: come up with idea, try and think how people could abuse this, try to fix your idea - loop the process until you can't see how it could be abused, then post to the forums to let us figure out how to abuse it..... If your idea can be abused, it WILL be.

Tried to download the patch but now after 45 minutes of downloading I am still only at 16% with barely 128 MB downloaded!

I will loose a whole evening just downloading it. What is going on with the patch? Never had that issue before. Is there any alternative to patch the game?

The issue is that the game doesn't explain it at all, nor it is an intuitive system. Simplicity doesn't mean it lacks depth. Complexity, in this case, made the game shallower and punished the ignorant. There was no choice in meta levels, now there is (hopefully).

It isn't complex. A Shield Boost Amplifier says, quote "Focuses and amplifies the efficiency of shield boosting modules.". It doesn't say how much so what is the logical step? Click "Attributes and scroll till you find "Shield Boost Bonus". Oh hey look T1 is 30% and it costs, let's see ... 250 000 ISK. Allright. Let's check this one here... T2, 36%, wow 20% more than T1 who would've thought and it costs ... 500 000 ISK. Mhm, lets see - CNSBA does give 37.5%, a whopping 25% than T1 but only 4 1/6 % more than T2 and costs WHATTHEF 85m ISK ARE F KIDDING?

All you have to do is actually READ. All the infromation is there. If you simply rely on the Meta level you are doing something wrong.

Look at the "new" Cap Flux coils - they are basically Meta0, T1, Meta4 and T2. I still don't see how this improves anything though. Not like there are a whole lot uses to Cap Flux Coils . . .

The new grey fields for Agents, Guests, Offices and inventory in the Station Services are butt ugly and in my eyes they doesn't fit to the style of EVE at all.
Please bring back the old tab style.

T1 Modules are still completely out classed by meta modules

New meta module naming system is immature and childish. It looses all of it's SciFi depth.

I think the most simple and senseful way to make them useful would be to give the basic and currently buildable meta 0 modules the role of the "Compact" modules, the modules that are easier to fit than all others of the same time at the cost of performance.

Seeing as the renaming has been probably primarily done to help rookies recognize that even modules with long and complex names are essentially just the same as a "Co-Processor/Reactor Control Unit/etc I" but slightly better, this would give our newbies a good module to start out with in terms of recognizing what it does by name, as well as being very cheap and compensates for their lack of fitting skills.

And I have to heavily agree, removing all the unique, if sometimes overly complex names of modules reduces a lot of the Sci-Fi flair, which started as the good old ArcJet Thrusters and thelike were removed, later the unique missile names and now the whole rest of the modules stock - but it hasn't really improved and only made many vets more annoyed about it every time it was done.

There is a lot broken in eve with lots of simple fixes and you didnt really do any of them.

Instead of doing more useful stuff you have given us:-

A french localized client when the frenchies speak better English that most of the English do.
A cloaking effect that is cosmetic and adds nothing useful.
Some cheesy buttons when docked that means u cant make the panel as small as you used to be able to.
A general dumbing down of the module naming.

Over the years you seem to gradually make the game worse. I used to be able to build the ships I flew from refining rat droppings. Its been nerfed to the point that all its worth doing now is shooting for bounties and not collecting anything. I buy ships with isk from bounties instead of gathering, transporting, refining, transporting again, building a ship, etc. The grind part of the game got changed from a whole industry chain I could do into warp somewhere, locking and pressing F1 - you seem to want me to sit in a belt and mine to get minerals instead which actually involves far less warping, locking and pressing F1.

The idea when I started playing that attracted me to this game was that I could play it how I wanted to - you need to talk to the people who play this game. I assume you asked the CSM how much of a priority Tiericide, French support and Improving Graphics are to any of the players?

Why not when you build a T1 mod from a BPO/BPC it randomly builds a T1 or Meta 1, Meta 2, Meta 3, Meta 4 module. With the higher meta levels being far less likely.

Hmmm, when I am cloaked it looks like my ship is covered in bubble-wrap Shocked, submerged under water. And it seems to take longer to cloak and decloak (verified by other person). Do I get a shielding bonus from the bubble-wrap? It might help me when I get blapped for taking longer to cloak up.

I don't quite understand how the module tiericide plan is supposed to work, if there is still no reason to ever fit the T1 versions of co-processors and RCUs, even after rebalancing.

The named versions are superior in stats, and market prices already appear to be dropping to below that of the T1 versions, due to excessive available supply of the old metas. I assume that the supply will actually continue to grow, since no mention was made of reducing the NPC drop rates.

Please explain.

So far, I'm enjoying the update. I haven't had much chance to tool around with it too much yet, of course, but the list of changes, I like.

I like the idea of module tiericide and support it entirely, but the names are a bit lackluster. As many have stated, they're descriptive right now, but lack flavor. Also, the cloaking effect is awesome, but the sound is a bit too loud in the mix right now. Also, I'd prefer not to have the Cloak On sound after using a stargate. Adding a slider for the cloaking sound effect in the Audio Options Tab would be great, and disabling the cloak activation sound effect after stargate jumping would be fantastic. Have the deactivation sound effect after moving/warping/whatever but it doesn't make much sense to have an activation sound when you're already appearing on-grid cloaked. Just seems like a disconnect between what I'm hearing and what I'm seeing.

Other than that, great release! Keep it up CCP!

Was this suppose to be a patch? Seems to be the exact same game I've been playing since 2010.

When can we expect a real patch or expansion?
