New Notifications - official feedback thread

Greetings pilots,

New notifications are now out on Tranquility, as an opt-in beta feature. Please post any feedback regarding the feature in this thread, and report any bugs found via the bug reporting system. Here is how you can activate the experimental notification system.

If I'm not mistaken, someone said in the o7 show that notifications will be implemented a couple of days after the main patch, so I guess someone forgot to send that memo..Roll

the notification now are online, bt how to move the icon? i have 2 monitor and i want it in the bottom left of my monitor

yeh looks good, i like it very much.

though unlike the previous poster I cant get the little icon to move? tried dragging, going into options etc

Am I missing something?

Double mid-click moving is actually a bug, that should not be possible. Intended move mode is accessed by holding down left click on the widget.

Ok, my ideas for improvement so far:

1. - Add ability to set the maximum number of past notifications displayed in History, as its is currently, it's a mess when scrolling down and up the history.

2. - Add ability to manually set the transparency of the Popup, because depending on the location of the notification window on our screens, its contents may not always be easy to read.

3. - With Contact Online/Offline notification, pls add the Contact Standing color to the notification, so we can see it on the notification itself whether that person is set blue or red to us.

Agreed on both. When I logged into SiSi the other day and turned on the notification system, I was not too enthused with notifications dating back to the day I started. That's a little excessive.

Heh, I saw number 418 so I opened list and scrolled down with thumb and for a moment I thought list animation went fubar because it kept scrolling like a mofo. Finally it stopped and I realized I'm seeing notifications from like 1+ year ago.

I can see in settings there is "Old notifications" category so I unchecked it but they are still showing.

But in general widget looks nice and handy so +1 for this beta and keep working.

Its hardcapped at 510 notifcations it seems. (Which is 3 months and 21 days for me lol)

Being able to limit the list to a smaller amount (or preferably a time limit like only notifications from the last 3 days + notifcations i have not yet seen that are older then 3 days) would be nice though.

1. About that "scrolling down" - could you add option so window remember when I stopped scrolling down and close window, so when I open it again it's open on place where I previously stopped?

2. Maybe it's just me, but long time ago I switched sides of my NeoCom from left to right, and now that notification icon covered my calendar(of curse NOW I know how to move it), but I thinking that implementing this notification window in form of transparent icons on top left side of HUD next to autopilot rout/star system etc. is better idea that what we have now.

you can move the icon to where ever you please. just left click and hold the icon itself and drag to wherever you desire

EDIT: you have to hold the left mouse button down for a couple seconds first
