get missions in the same system?
I started doing lvl 3 security missions, and out of over 10 (almost 16 actually) missions only 1 was in the same system where the agent is. It is kind of annoying to jump around in a slow Drake and will be even more so when I proceed to lvl 4 missions.
When I was still doing lvl 2 missions, getting a mission in a neighboring system was more of an anomaly, unlike now.
What determines where the action will take place?
Is it the choice of an agent?
Do certain systems get more missions generated in them than other system?
Do certain missions tend to send you in a different system?
Any clues or ideas? Blink

The only way to get missions in the same system is to decline them until they fit your requirement, though that will be terribly inefficient.

Level 4's will send you up to, i think, 6 systems away so you'll have to get used to it.

EVE is what happens when the rule of law does not apply and Darwinism is allowed to run freely.

Agents send you to a seemingly random systems typically within 1-2 jumps. My LvL4 agents normally send me out 1 jump, with a 6 jump trip a very rare event.

The population of a system affects the likelyhood of you getting a mission in said system with the EvE Code trying to spread people and node load around.

Doesn't each agent have it's own subset of missions he hands out? If you're seeing the same missions over and over and each one is to the same remote system then you might try a different agent.

Get used to it. Also, train for something better than a Drake. L4s in a Drake are not efficient.

Pretty much this but as the standing with the agent raises, that agent will keep the mission locations nearby.

I remember reading somehwere that agents in lower security space generally paid better isk/lp, and that they also didn't send you as far out. I have a lvl 4 agents in a .5 system, and I feel like 20% of the time I get to do something in system. Maybe about 70% of the time it's within 1-2 jumps, and the last 10% of the time it's 3+ jumps.
I have no source for that, so don't quote me on it, but it's something I thought i rememebr hearing, and my lvl 4 agents rarely sends me more than 1 or 2 jumps out. I also barely have enough standings to use this lvl 4 agent, so I don't know how your standings with the agent factor into it. Maybe if I get max standings it will get better, not sure though....

huh? when did I say anything about lvl 4's? I am doing lvl 3's, and Drake, although Navy Issue, seems to be an overkill. Out of 20+ missions, only once I had to warp to a station. Other missions didnt get my shield below 50% even.

Thanx for all replies. I assumed it would be similar to my experience with lvl 2 missions. So far only 1 missions was 2 jumps away, 3 maybe 4 in the same system, and the rest, almost 20, were 1 jump away.

The good thing is there are 3 agents in the station, so sometimes they give missions in the same system, and I can save time on jumping the gate :)

I seem to recall that security agents generally give out the missions within the constellation rather than the system. I am unable to verify this right now unfortunately.
