Is there a way to leave a station in your pod?

For example I have a ship and other assests in another station but don't want to buy a cheap frigate to fly there and pick up my other ship. Basically I don't want to leave assets all over the place and I don't have enough for an industrial ship yet. So was wondering if I can pod it in high sector to pick up all my stuff and fly it to my new home. Thanks...

You can click your active ship and leave it then undock in your pod yes. Be sure not to loitered anywhere in space in just your pod as there are people who will happily 'pod' you just for their amusement. You should be fine.

There are also disposable ships called shuttles used for this purpose.

Hmmm what skills are needed and where can they hold a descent ammount of cargo? I have several ships all over the place ( still a noob) :) and want to get them to my home for now. Thanks again for reply...

If it's just a couple of jumps, you can use a pod.

For longer trips, buy a shuttle. They're faster than pods too.

You don't need any special skills for shuttles and they have a laughable cargo... They are useful for travel to where your ships are that you want to move then just repackage and sell them. They cost peanuts.

Look then up on the market, just search for 'shuttle'

Shuttles are fast, agile, very cheap, but only have 10m cargo space. If you want a bit more cargo space. Undock in your pod, go to another station where you don't have any ships and your friendly insurance company will issue you with a noob ship.

When you are finished with them, just trash them, you can always get another the same way.

Note that you do not need to 'afford' an Industrial ship. Do the Business or Industrial tutorial career chains. A Tier 1 industrial ship is given away at the end of each of these chains. You can do each chain 3 times for each faction (different agents each time) and be given 6 x Badger I, 6 x Sigils, 6 x Iteron Mk1, 6 x Wreathe

If you have the ISK and the distance isn't too great, you could do a courier contract to have your stuff moved. A fair rate seems to be 10K/jump, and there are always people looking to do simple hauling jobs.

1) There is no requirement to use a shuttle - and - anyone can use a shuttle from any faction. Thus - if the shuttles for your faction aren't handy and shuttles from another faction are - you can use those. The only difference is in their appearance.

2) Shuttle Blueprints are cheap. You can buy a shuttle BPO and make your own. If you can't fly home with the shuttle you took to a destination because the cargo hold of the ship you're bringing back is to small to fit a repackaged shuttle - you can reprocess the shuttle and bring back the ore. You can also simply sell the shuttle at your destination. So - don't think of them as being "disposable" - as the trit they were made of and the shuttle itself can both be sold on the market.

3) Fly to any station in your pod and you will receive a free rookie ship. These ships are not nearly as good as shuttles for travel as the shuttles warp much faster, making your trip quicker - but they are easily obtainable. If you repackage your rookie ship - you can bring it back with you - if it will fit - but they take up much more room than a shuttle. Repackaging and then assembling a rookie ship - will first take the fittings off the rookie ship and put them in your items hangar (like any other ship) but when you assemble it - it will assemble with a brand new rookie weapon and rookie miner - in addition to those already in your items hangar from repackaging the rookie ship in the first place. Repeatedly doing this can be done to manufacture rookie miners for sale. If you see rookie miners for sale in the market - that is how they got there. They aren't worth much, so it's mostly something to do for amusement. If you collect a fleet of little rookie ships - you can do this en-mass - which is how those guys selling rookie miners made 300 of them ... The rookie weapons can no longer be sold - but - if you are brand new, right out of the spawn tubes and have 5,000 ISK to your name - doing this will give you TWO rookie weapons to mount on your rookie ship - instead of one. Also - training Drones I and Scout Drone Operation I will let you have a drone for your rookie ship, drastically increasing it's fire power. A rookie ship cannot fit two miners - but - a couple of trips back and forth mining with one of them will give you the 20k to buy a mining frigate which will fit two of them. Rookie ships cannot be sold - so if you've got a bunch of them laying about cluttering up your assets window ... you can just delete them if you want.

4) Basic Industrials can be had for free by completing some of the career agent missions. You'll also receive some Expanded Cargo Hold I modules which can increase their capacity. Everyone should do at least one set of the Career Agent missions. You learn about several aspects of the game, get to practice flying your ship in relatively safe conditions as well as pick up some free skills and ships, which are valuable by rookie monetary standards. Later on - when you've got more money - you can buy better stuff - but this stuff is good enough to get you started. Don't mine in an industrial - except if you're doing it AFK. Any of the mining frigates will way out mine an industrial. If you mine in mission space - you can jettison your ore into a jet can, bookmark it and then come pick it up later in your industrial with little fear of being can flipped - unless - you're in a really busy system. Use your on board scanner to look for Combat Scanner Probes.. Jet cans last 2 hours - but you can always create a new one and drag the contents of the old one into it. Labeling the jet can with the time lets you know how old it is.
