Rename old account/character?

Good evening. I tried logging into an old account that I had from 2009(yeah, i know..old ), but obviously it was disabled. I began the process of re-activating the account, however, I am curious: Would I be able to rename my character once I re-activate? The character was created before all of the custom character features such as first and family name, portrait, etc.... It has just one name. Reason I am asking is because this character has a lot of skills already trained up and a lot of ISK :).

Character cannot be renamed unless deemed to have an offensive name in which case they MAKE you rename it. Other then that you won't be able to login to that character without remaking it int he new system and making a new picture so don't worry about that part.

So even if I log into that character, and Im forced to do a character re customization, I wouldnt be able to name him ? Isnt that part of the customization?

no. Your name is not part of your customisation -- it is static as soon as you click the "create character" button for the first time. The customisable stuff is features, clothes, etc (i.e. space barbies).

There is 1 thing you can TRY:

File a petition to change your name, maybe you encounter a nice GM which will let you redo your name.

But don't get your hopes up to much, it's likely that your petition will be rejected.

File a petition to change your name, maybe you encounter a nice GM which will let you redo your name.

But don't get your hopes up to much, it's likely that your petition will be rejected.

As mentioned previously, the character name will not be changed with the recustomization and the only point to choose it is at the character creation. A petition for a character name change will also be denied, especially if that character is already years old and never ran into any issues with the name in regards to our naming policy. The only exception we will make is to correct capitalization of letters into a more sensible way (i.e. from "kArIdOr" to Karidor, to abuse my name as an example).

Karidor: thank you for the response. The only reason I asked is because on the old account, I have quite a bit of money saved up, but obviously do not like the name. My goal was to transfer isk over from the old account to the new one. I wanted to avoid re-subscribing on that account just to transfer my isk. Anything you can do to help me out with that? Would a petition help?

There is the "Hour for PLEX" option (Edit: on the account management page). This allows you to activate your account for a couple of hours to buy a PLEX with ISK. So you could use that option and transfer the ISK to your new account.

Problem is, AFAIK, that using that option without extend the gametime, "Hours for PLEX" will be blocked for that account (and maybe even your new account) in the future and you will have to petition and ask kindly for a "Hours for PLEX" option reactivation.

Edit: can't seem to find the option. Maybe file a petition to get the account reactivated for a couple of hours.

You could sell your old character on the character bazaar and buy a new one with the isk that you get... overall it'll cost you a few months training worth of skills but you could end up with a name that you prefer...

ccp will not remove char 5+ yrs old i make char back in 2005 and not remove i not play it in 5+ yrs

lot of server cash go to old shity acc old and 2005 char on 14 free day acc long pass P

This should be mandatory. Please force this upon the masses with bastardized capitalization. Their names **** my eyes.
