Secondly (if realistic) what would be the best sorts of activities with a limited playtime (3 hours on weedays, a bit longer some weekends) to achieve that amount.

If you have limited play time, why would you waste it with grinding ISK for PLEX than simply pay that one sub and enjoy the game instead? The PLEX centered lifestyle where you grind ISK to pay for another month of mindlessly grinding ISK will change the way you play the game significantly and at least in my opinion kill the fun.

If you are just looking for a target to work towards there are many other things you can do in EVE.

I have considered this, If it takes ALL my online time to grind a plex then ill just carry on paying sub rather than doing that, but if I can get to a plex doing say 40% of the time i am on then ill go for the plex.

Hmm, 5 years in game and you don't know how realistic is for you to earn 800mil per month? After such long time you should have at least some kind of idea about your income generation options and capabilities.

I've jumped from thing to thing in that time, never really concentrating in one area, Ive made ISK in most areas but now I am specifically wanting to concentrate in one area in order to make enough to plex, but without getting the 800m (and more) as the sole thing that I do in game, therefore was just seeking opinions on other peoples best methods.

5 years and you can't make 27m isk per day?

Yes I can, But I want to ask peoples opinion on the quickest way to get that 27m profit a day. that is what forums are for, asking questions and seeking confirmation etc?

Firstly is that realistic with 1 account and 3 toons at the current plex prices?

Yes, I do it. I do exploration in low sec and high sec in astero.

Even then, you basically sacrifice 40% of your free time to the grind and not to something that's actually fun. Ask yourself, how many minutes of that 40% do you have to work in RL to pay for the sub?

I know it is tempting to save a few bucks for a game, but is your free time worth it? EVE will turn into a job and you will have to grind that ISK even if you don't feel like playing or the game time will run out.

For those criticizing him for wanting to plex, consider the fact that he has played this long and still doesn't make enough ISK with that much time in-game to plex. It's about time he learns to make ISK anyway, let plex be the motivator.

Yeah, I don't get people who would do mind-numbing ISK grinding in order to PLEX an account. Is your leisure time worth so little that you'd rather do that instead of working an extra hour/month to pay for your account?

As for mining and manufacturing, the trick is to do both. Mine, set up a manufacturing job, then go back to mining while the job does it's thing. If you mine faster than the jobs get done, just set up another job. Eventually you will get to a point where the jobs will finish in time to receive the next stack of materials.

I'm a new player and even that doesn't make sense to me.

If you can make more ISK doing things other than mining, just buy the minerals off the market to feed your industry.

Unless you enjoy mining, that is.

Ima, You make a very good point actually, I think it is still a goal you can work towards as long you you have fun doing in. My main for example is just trying to get into solo PVP I do find that quite fun (as long as you can find decent 1v1 fights), I also enjoy industry, so If i can make the money to plex whilst doing the thigns i do to have fun then that is a bonus. If whilst doing this I feel myself more concentrating of the plex money rather than the fun aspect, ill back off from it.

I've done minin gon my main and still very rarely do so, but generally I buy minerals etc off market for industry. That is possibly the way I will need to go in order to try an get the plex money, Its just knowing what to make that is the most profitable.
