If you can provide a screenshot of what you're seeing and the the latest log files, we can look into what's happening.

Since 17/sep, I have been getting this - http://gyazo.com/a00a6d2428c5bf23d9e0fc74097c7b21 - on the launcher.

Tracking back through the logs, I found this -
=================================
2014-09-17 09:17:36,542 - root - info - ERROR - Got a connection error when attempting to query https://client.eveonline.com/patches/win_launcherinfoTQ_inc.txt
Traceback (most recent call last):

SSLError: [Errno 1] _ssl.c:499: error:14090086:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate verify failed
=================================

Which suggests a local SSL3 error, and on the same day There were a whole batch of updates to windows - http://gyazo.com/2361d53999383bad7c0df3eb81c23887 - any one or more of which that might have contributed to this error - are there any tools out there that might help nail the cause?

I've tried getting information on just one of these updates from M$ to no avail.

A simple pointer to a tool that will help.

No responses from tools, please.

On Windows the log files can be found under the launcher\cache folder. On OSX they're inside the application itself, under Contents\Resources\cache.

You can paste them to http://pastebin.com/ to preserve the formatting.

Strange. I don't know why you would be getting this SSL validation failure now, since the portion of the code which is erroring is executed every time the EVE Launcher is started.

You can download and install the EVE Launcher by grabbing and running this: http://cdn1.eveonline.com/EveOnlineLauncher/release/EVEOnlineLauncher_2_1_826897.exe

Just did this and the same error - is it possible you could use my posts as a set of leads to track down the cause?

There's two conversations in this thread, and I directed the quoted post to Ocalot. Riddler Lehman, can you give me the full logs from your Launcher? The small quote you provided above isn't sufficient to start debugging the issue.

I don't know this would suddenly start erroring, since the code it uses hasn't changed, but you can try the instructions here and see if it works.

Can you provide me with the log from running it with that command line switch?

I've also been getting the steam token error. I also have steam installed, but do not have Eve installed through steam. I can bypass the launcher by using the exefile.exe, but using the normal launcher just opens up a search page. Excerpt from my debug.log:

[0929/095842:ERROR:backend_impl.cc(2139)] Corrupt Index file
[0929/095842:ERROR:cache_util_win.cc(48)] Unable to move the cache: 5
[0929/095842:ERROR:backend_impl.cc(146)] Unable to move cache folder
[0929/095842:ERROR:backend_impl.cc(287)] Unable to create cache
[0929/095842:INFO:CONSOLE(0)] "Uncaught ReferenceError: downloadProgressUpdate is not defined," source: http://none/en?steam_token=(0)

Removing the steam_api.dll causes the launcher to load an "exception", but then gives the option to start eve.

Exception

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "launcher.py", line 117, in main
File "lib\controller.pyo", line 121, in __init__
File "wx\lib\pubsub\pubsub1\pub.pyo", line 750, in sendMessage

File "wx\lib\pubsub\pubsub1\pub.pyo", line 261, in sendMessage
File "lib\controller.pyo", line 126, in OnInit
File "zipextimporter.pyo", line 98, in load_module
ImportError: MemoryLoadLibrary failed loading steamapi.pyd

The exception goes on for quite a bit, if you want a log of it let me know, but not sure it'll help since really I'm causing it by removing the dll

Sorry for posting in both threads... had tabs for both and replied to the other one, but this is the one it should be in.

Try deleting the cache folder, in the launcher folder. It might stop these errors from occurring, although I'll admit, I'm not entirely sure of the cause.

Will have to be more cerful about the switches - added the ignorecerterrors switch and the launcher worked ok - trying launcher in more vanilla modes . . . reporting back shortly

Still doesn't work without the flag.

Having similar/same problem, my launcher starts up and then the patch hangs at 25%, cleared the cache, no luck, added the ignorecerterrors switch, no luck, re-installed eve, no luck.
