JIta Riot for removing language channels

I agree that CCP being unwilling to discuss the issue and unwilling to make an effort to mitigate the problems is an issue. They're the ones creating this problem, so they should make an effort to make things right. The one real issue in all this is the fact, that new players are not going to be aware of the new player moderated language channels. It would be good for both the players and CCP to fix that. What you need to do is stop wasting your time with riots and try to contact CCP or CSM member to make sure the issue will be at least looked at. It's a lot less exciting, but much more likely to get things changed for the better.

It's not necessarily smart either.
Having even more people stuffed in the official chatrooms will not make things better.
If they allow advertisements for player run helpchats in it, that would help.

Personally, I wonder what the german trolls in the german chat will do now.
They weren't really bad... mostly hilarious actually ... and losing them is kind of counter productive.

3 days before Oceanus we stand up and raise our voices and guns - cause it is a BAD move.
Forcing new players into the help channel only.

Help channels are not meant for chitter chatter, and as long as new players have no channel to join - to meet people.. where do they end?

Player channels do not show up anywhere.

What if your language has no help channel? Where do you go?

So many questions on a terribly bad "solution".

This.

The removal isn't the big problem, hell it's easy to set up a player-created version.

The bigger issue is that currently all the language channels are listed, so a new player with lack of English knowledge can open the chat channel options and just pick his or her language out of the list.

When we move to player created channels:

A. That list there is now will disappear, which means that knowledge of that player created channel has to come from either someone who is already inside that channel or you have to know that the name exists (both which aren't the case for a new player).

B. There will be duplicate channels made by different players to be the unofficial "official" language channel and that means that people will start to argue which one is better (though I'm all up for player competition, in this case it's better if it all works together).

C. Player moderators are not as unbiased as you would like to hope most of the time. They can ban / mute someone just because they don't like the look of their avatar or something irrelevant like that.

So, yeah, delete the channels, but only after you together with community / CSM (hell, that's why we have that CSM) have found a good solution on how to make player channels work (mostly in relation to point A).
