This game has cargo containers that can contain more volume than the container itself occupies. Freighter are pretty much cargo containers with propulsion.

The "problem" with freighters u mention doesn't negatively impact anything other than sanity of those with a lil OCD

What nobody realizes when they start to complain about model sizes is that your camera is very very heavily fish-eyed. The default FOV in EVE is so high that you're actually able to see things that are behind you, to an extent. Turn off the fish-eye effect and suddenly you realize that everything in EVE is ... well ... stupidly massive. Except your pod, which is actually really freaking tiny.

"But Alva, how do I do that?" I hear you asking half-heartedly. Well, here's how:

Hold down ctrl while keeping the left and right mouse buttons pressed. Now move your mouse to the left to decrease the fish-eye and to the right to increase it.

Go try it.

You sir have just exploded my mind.

Yeah, here was my reaction when I did the ctrl and mouse thing.

On topic though, it's a sci-fi setting literally 10,000 years in the future. In another galaxy. After another dark age that lasted a few thousand years. Some, like the Jovians, had no second dark age. To think that you can fill a hauling ship with cargo containers, to contain more than, say 15,000m of space with cargo containers that take up 3000 each but hold 3900m isn't unusual in such a hi-tech setting? I think we can allow some breaking rules of physics with such advancement.
