X-Large Maint Arrays

Why are there not hangers on a xl mait array. By not having them you have basically made them insecure and any person with even basic pos roles can access and take ships out of them. CCP has made several references lately about the ability to store caps in space but basically unless you in a 1 man corp or trust every single member its just not possible to limit access. Why not just have tabs like every other hanger???

Am I missing something?

A fundamentally sound question. And one I assume has to do with the usual "legacy code" problems. But I also assume/hope the as the storage in space comes closer to a reality that more secure and controlled pos storage is tested and applied.

Otherwise the mishaps could be catastrophic.

I'll bite. Because it's not an XL hangar arraay?

What you are really asking is "Can I have an XL CHA or PHA?" and I think what you really want is an XL PHA.

You want a super secure, extra big place to put all your stoofs that no one can get at. We have a name for that. It's called a STATION.

If you're living in a wh then you're out of luck. Living there is a choice - it has it's up sides (no local for example) and its down sides (no stations for example).

The XL Ship maint array doesn't have tabs like a regular hanger. there is no way to secure them. i want to store supers

Oh, sorry, missed that one.

I'll go w/ no way. You knew you couldn't dock it both when you trained for it and when you bought it. There wasn't any fine print.

Unless the reasons for not allowing them to dock in a station have changed, then I doubt that change is a priority.

Honestly, after what hyperion did to wh, I would think the last thing a super pilot would want is to have supers fozzinated. He'll let you dock them and take away all the high slots or something random like that. As your spaceland legal council I recommend you talk in whispers and make slow movements as to not draw his attention.

I give up, people that respond here have very little clue on eve. all of you are pissing the point. I didn't say anything about WH's or my nix's its a capital tactic im trying to work out. CCP has referenced the ability to store capitals but in reality there storage solution is crap.

Password protect the pos so only you can enter it? Problem solved. Or set the xlsma to starbase config only? Loads of options.

Let's all agree with him so he feels good.

This is a great idea and should be implemented right away. There should be an array that you can anchor on the side of an oupost. Each super cap garage array should be able to hold 2 supers.... unless you put your lawn mower in the middle of the bay, or that air compressor that you have never used. Come to thing of it, you'll have to move all those empty shoe boxes your wife is collecting down there.

I think the underlying problem is they have built too many supers and are running out of alt super sitter accounts to hold them all. They are looking for a convenient place to safely and securely store them.

I think a better solution is that if a super isn't used in combat once every 30 days it loses 5% of its hull, armor or shield that can't be regained - ever.

We'll define combat as inflicting damage on another ship hull and you can't be withing 100km of a pos shield or DED complex when you do it.

I think over time that will solve the "Where do I store my super?" problem.

Honestly, if you're 'trapped' in a super and can't figure out how to get out of it... I'll help you.

1. Sell it
2. Eject and leave it floating for some random dude to claim
3. Give it to your secret space BFF
4. Give it to some dude you don't like (now he's 'trapped' in it)
5. Self destruct it
