The basic idea is to remove meta/named mods from the loot table and in the new invention system replace data cores with 50 run bpcs for the equivalent meta 1-4 items. Essentially the idea being "hey you didn't create the best variant possible, but you did improve upon the design." I would hope this would return value to meta mods whose worth tanked due to the scrap metal re-pro changes, as well as give players more control and building options.

I realize this system breaks down at the ship and ammo levels and I have no other alternative to suggest to replace reclaiming data cores. Although it would be academically interesting to see what would happen if faction and navy ship/ammo/module bpcs were a rare outcome of the invention process as well.

Interested to hear the communities opinions.

Hmm interesting idea, I like the idea of giving the players more control over the market.

Anything that gets CCP away from competing with player industry. Having "named" modules as a partial success outcome of the invention process is definitely worth considering.

We'll need to come up with something to replace the loot but fewer, more valuable drops would probably be welcomed by the players. By all means keep the scrap metal so you don't know which wrecks contain the good stuff.
