I'm very new to Eve, though I've trialed my ass off with it over the last 5 or 6 years, I generally just ship spin for a couple days and then quit.

I'm determined to immerse myself in this game this time around, it fascinates me, I read about even when I'm not playing ssooo anyways.

I re-upped an old account (this one) and started two more with the power of two. My idea is this:

Account One: PvP (Missle Frigates for now) Pretty good on that and focused in my training
Account Two: Explorer/Wormhole character
-No clue what kind of path, training regimen I should be on here

Account Three: Indy/Trade character
-Again no clue what kind of path/training regimen I should be on here

I looked at the certificates, and unlike my combat character, the certs for Indy/Trade and Explorer/Wormhole weren't very telling.

Did a search on these forums and didn't really find any guides either.

Any help? Thanks in advance for any direction you might be able to give me.

For general explorationg and WH dwelling, I would recommend a t3 cruiser. It just works well all around. Aside from that, you will need all the scanning skills. I would say at 4 at least, 5 if you can muster the patience. You can start with something like a Heron or CovOps first, and then work your way to a t3. Other skills you'll need are the Relic and Hacking tool skills, you'll probably want some cloaking skills and I would suggest some basic drone skills because YOLO. You'll also need basic core skills of course. Check out the guide here for exact specifics and explanations.

For your indy character, have a look at one of Tau's earlier posts here: LINK

If you're looking to make some skill plans I can't recommend EVEMon enough. You can plan for specific ships and items and I would also suggest looking up fits on battleclinic, plugging them into EFT or Pyfa and seeing what core skills you'd need to fly it.

Welcome to EVE!

What Derrick Miles said, and also acceptable: Try assembling and posting a loadout at BC that you think might work for the goals you have in mind, and ask the community for assistance.

I'm gonna go against the grain here and suggest you train your PvE characters AFTER your PvP one. Eve's PvE is probably the worst in the entire genre, and the reason you've burnt out on it before is because of that.

Find a decent Faction Warfare corp and join them, or RvB if you want to stay in HighSec (you shouldn't though. Go to Low, my son.). You'll make very good money in Lowsec and it'll teach you a set of very important skills that will come in handy while PvPing. You can be useful to people in less than three hours of training, many corps have free T1 Frigate programs, and anybody who hates seeing a cute newbie get excited when he tackles someone isn't worth playing with. Afterwards, if you feel like you want to get into those things, then do so when you're at a point where you know more about what you enjoy in the game.

I'm in a relatively similar boat as you...even looking at training some similar skills (missile frigates and CovOps). Looks like you are eliciting some good advice or at least it looks helpful to me.

I've actually been having a tough time finding a newbie friendly corp to join that is a huge mob (E-UNI, RVB, ect) that can help you develop. That's probably one of the most helpful things I've found in skill planning (or learning in general) is having experienced folks you can talk to.

While a T3 cruiser is great and all, it's not really a reasonable goal for a new player. You are looking at a very grindy train just to sit in it, not to mention fly it capably.

If you have cash I say go for an Astero. You should have cloaking IV, astrometrics IV, Astro range pinpointing and acquisition II, hacking and archeology IV, drones V, and most navigation skills to at least III.

Been watching your youtube broadcasts, Chance and it's a good example of what one can achieve in exploration with a low skill base and t1 ships & modules.

As I slipped my finger slowly inside her hole, I could immediately feel it getting wetter and wetter.

I took my finger back out and within seconds she was going down on me.

"I really need a new boat," I thought to myself.

I agree with what Chance Ravinne mentioned. Flying a T3 is more of a intermediate - long term goal. The amount of SP to make it worth flying will cause you to un-sub while you wait for it. The goal is to determine what your long term interests are and plan what you can do and fly on your way to that point.

You mentioned you wanted to fly missile frigs, so you'll be looking at mostly Caldari ships. Start from there and plan what you want to do. There's a ton of stuff to do in this game, and not everything is for everyone. Just don't set unrealistic goals only to find yourself ship spinning while you wait. Find something you can do in frigates -> destroyer -> cruisers -> battlecruisers -> battleships. You don't have to progress like that, but it's just an example. Faction Warfare is a good way to learn how to PVP if you can find a group to fly with and teach you.

If you're interested, I can show you how you can kill battlecruisers and battleships worth hundreds of millions all while flying a T1 frigate!

Train the pvp and explorer toons for the same thing to start with that way they can share ships and its handy for dual boxing.
What I did...
Both caldari, trained to tengu HML, this makes you effective in wh's and hs missioning and to a degree in pvp.. ie caracals, drakes etc.
I threw in some scanning and salvaging skills in to my second account so it took slightly longer to get there.
After this I split them, one went ham's and rails the other went cloaky hauler, boosting, logi and HIC.
This way they compliment each other. It worked out really well for me as I have been in hs, wh and null without too much difficulty. I was also nice of CCP to align their rail buffs to my training :).
After that I went dread for one and carrier and jf for the other.
I then went recon/hac on the pvp one and BLOPs on the support one.
Essentially the one will always complement the other, well till I need to start cross taring them

My first indy/trade toon I went orca(used to be the best way to haul goods) all the production and trade skills and then processing skills. I then used one of the other toons to help grind missions for research agents standings so I could farm data cores, not so profitable now, but once a year I collect and make a tidy profit, I call it my xmass bonus.
I did train the indy toon for covert cynos also... he opens cyno, support toon bridges in the pvp toon, but all I did was ninja plex's and never really pvp'd in tie fashion.

best is to find a good corp and grow with them.. I could suggest one if you want ;)
btw.. there is nothing wrong with eve's pve... i am never short of iskies and I waste a lot of it...

... What next ??

if you wanna get into wh's

get some scanning skills, say lvl 4 astrometrics and lvl 2 or 3 in the pinpointing and range finding.
get yourself some engineering skills (youll want these regardless of what you do)
get yourself a battlecruiser and the required tank and weapon system to go with it.

so for amarr for example,
harbinger, t2 armour mods, lasers etc etc.
get yourself into a c1 or c2 wh, fly around do some combat sites. (salvaging cos thats how you make money in whs, none of this bounty nonsense)
all while hammering dscan like a mad man cos no local, can also look into a venture and gas sites but unless you get the good gas it wont be worth it, and unless you can kill the rats that spawn (and salvage) it wont be worth it.
all while hammering dscan like a madman to see who is trying to kill you.
the answer, someone is always trying to kill you in a wh.

drop me a mail/convo in game if you need more clarity.
ignore these fools talking about t3s, thats a 6 month goal. you can try out wh's within a few weeks if you go for a c1/c2 which will give you an idea of if you like them enough to start training every t3 (yes you will train them all).

You should add in what Time zone you fly in. So many Corps will say 24/7 in their adverts but that's a majority load of BS. Focus before you go all out. If you want to really learn the ins and outs of PvP by veterans, we can help you on a more 1 to 1 level than just you being a number in RvB or Eve Uni. Send a message if you'd like to know more.
