That's an impressive recreation of a world (well universe) sized economy then!

Although some prices are also driven by the buy/sell value set by NPC corps, but that's another debate. For example the Nestor battleship is regarded by many as too pricey, but I think its price is mostly driven by its worth in the LP store, so the price is decided by CCP here, not by players, right?

CCP doesnt have an actual economist on their payroll for no reason.

Blueprints, most skillbooks and some trade goods are NPC seeded. The rest is player supplied to the market.

And NOTHING has an NPC price. That Nestor is worth what players are willing to pay for it. High supply & Low demand and the price will fall or the other way around with a low supply and high demand the price will go up. If the price falls too much, supply will go down as people will cash in their LP for different things, hense you will end up with more demand then supply....and the circle is complete.

Hell even skillbooks are kind of bound to player speculation as some are only seeded in certain regions and then moved around to others and resold for profit.

I just dont get plexing ... i like to buy them with real world income .. but to spend all that time and effort trying to make enough isk to avoid paying out $15 bucks a month .. i just dont get it.. i really think if you can not afford to spend.. what $3.75 a week .. then i really dont know how you can afford a PC and an internet connection and food etc..

I appreciate the challenge of it all .. but i really think alot of people are really concerned about spending the real life money. 2 hrs of real work / month should pay for your subscription .. mow two lawns, but no instead people spend hours and hours in game to achieve the same thing... and if they actually want to have fun in game .. and lose ships and mods and clones they need to make even more .. grinding in eve for isk is just as bad as a real job .. worse in some ways ..

here's the secret of plexing.

Some of us have figured out how to make isk without grinding, so rather than blow the $$$ on the game, we get to play the game AND buy something else that we also want/need with the money we didn't blow on the game.

Some of us make enough money with a job that they don't really care about 15 Euro / month for a game (hell, that would last me less then 90 minutes in local bar - in EVE I can spent hours and hours for the same money having fun).

you must have to click at least a few buttons - enter in some numbers -- check on some trends - maybe a few times a week at least .. time i spend shooting stuff and doing whatever i want .. i can not make isk doing what i like best in eve .. which is goofng around and havng fun .. but i make a paltry 3k a month before taxes .. but even that means that $15 is ridiculously cheap for a months worth of fun. to add i buy plex for all my in game needs .. i make zero isk / month ..

and of course i am glad people do buy plex with isk .. otherwise who would i sell to :)

different strokes for different folks - and either way CCP gets their monies worth, a vibrant economy, and lots of player driven content.

was going to try to quote and what not but :effort:

It's not that I can't *afford* the $15/month, it's that if I don't have to pay it, and can do something else fun with the money instead like taking the family put put golfing I'd rather do that. It's a win-win for me. I get to play a hell of a fun game, and take my family out to something fun too. Or I just **** it away on whiskey one or the other :)

It does take a few clicks Toshiro, which takes me on my hella old computer ~ 5 minutes per character per night (if I bother checking it that night)

So yeah I do take ~10 minutes of my eve time (no I don't check market trends or whatever) to click a few things, but hell it pays for the account, pays for all the toys I want to/can fly (still young can't fly a whole lot yet) so I don't see why not.

Everyone seems to think that people who buy plex are poor, we're not, we just have other stuff we'd like to do with our hard earned cash.

Time is money for me, so when I have time to log in I want to blow stuff up not farm a moon or whatever.

Plus, got a sweet deal on Steam for a year's sub at like $5.50/month Cool

Very simple nowdays: go to Uedama and wait for gankers. Let them get concorded and loot their wrecks. Sell the stuff back to gankers. Repeat.

if you are doing this, shoot the gankers once they turned red. sure you wont kill them and CONCORD will do all the work, but you will get some bounties :)
