Not empty quoting.

The shitstain scriptkiddies ddos'ing right now are the ones to blame and you all know it. As far as I can tell, anyone that might be asking for compensation over this could very well be the ones doing it for that express purpose.

Except for people like me who doesn't even know what scriptkiddies, ddos'ing or any of that garbage even means but have stuff they don't want to lose.

We're not all a bunch of damn computer nerds

DDOS is basically just a bunch of hello server are you there requests. Enough to overload the max bandwidth and resources of the server which denies others access to it, thus "Denial Of Service Attack" AKA DDOS

After some deep undercover investigation, I found the reason.

It happens during cofee breaks when all CCP employees leave Tuxford unattended in the same room that also holds the server control.

No its when they all order Chinese food and then fart repeatedly and the hamsters all pass out.

Honestly, some kudos to CCP for getting better and quicker at compensating and getting back up.

However, it's sobering to see that after weeks and weeks of this neither CCP nor the relevant authorities are able to pin it down. Whatever the very large technical difficulties, you can't help feeling that both are helpless. And that is not good. Let's hope some tangible compensation is given.

On the other hand, let's see what this "community" is actually worth. Whatever the cost, are we going to let a bunch of *********** decide what we can or can't play?

CCP is not in wrong here. They are wronged. The players are wronged. If we let this drive us out of EVE, then we are all losers. Now is when we can show that we are a community of committed players. If we fold to this, then EVE will die because of we folded.

True, CCP could do more to help us hang in there, but the final decision is ours: fight or fold.

I'm playing and I'm not un-subbing. That is the best we can do right now to keep EVE alive.

See in my younger years back when I was in the hacking and piracy scene I shamefully launched a few ddos/mailbomb/phreaking attacks of my own but that was 10 years ago i've since grown out of that stage of anarchy xD All of this is old school stuff.... kids are crazy now a days they are swatting ppl o.o

21k ... slowly stabilising.

That's 9k less than before the disconnect,
with a good part of the people walking their dogs,
eating something, taking a shower, etc ...

In half an hour we see how many have given up for today.

Every single day this has happened to me for 2 months and over the last few days I've had enough. Still I get so many people attacking me for posting my frusterations here on not being able to solo pvp without loosing ships to these disconnects constantly.

CCP simply aren't taking this issue seriously at all. They need to hire more network technicians and make a commitment to their players that these issues will be resolved promptly and professionally.

Many forum warriors, ship spinners, and skill queuers will argue that it's not a problem but for active players it's the worst problem I've ever seen happen to eve.

They are getting away with it because they are most likely utilizing botnets and vpn tunneling and just bouncing their connection around so much that it is not really able to be traced.

It's an external attack. Hiring more techs won't do anything. None of us are happy about it, but a lot of us seem to understand that there's nothing CCP can realistically do about it. Give your support to CCP and weather the storm.

Of course, if you know how to mitigate a DDOS that's viable for a smaller company like CCP, I can guarantee you that there are tens of thousands of smaller companies in the world who would pay you quite handsomely for your knowledge and expertise, so hey, put your money where your mouth is, eh?

Talk is cheap, but Void S and Quake L are cheaper.
