Hi folks,

We have two new chronicles for Kronos, with a very possible third coming up not long after release.

The first, by CCP Delegate Zero, is titled Yetamo and has to do with two Minmatar orbital engineers who get into trouble with nanotechnology.

The second, by yours truly, is titled The Station and the Bazaar, and deals with the new type of pirate research installation that's going to crop up with Kronos.

Enjoy!

Good to finally see some lore behind the Gecko heavy drones after receiving no context for their existence on their launch.

Nice to see some new PF coming out at last. Here's my thoughts on each chronicle in turn:

Yetamo:

Hrmm, interesting. I don't think this kind of AI excursion happens often, otherwise we'd be hearing about it more. So, a hint at something to come? Or the story behind one of the long-ago rogue drone incidents listed in the Code Aria report?

Personally, I felt this Chronicle could have done to be a little bit longer; as it was, the sudden change, adaption, and resolution felt a little bit rapid. Delegate Zero, a little writing advice (if from an admittedly not-so-great writer): You occasionally seem to have fallen into the 'show, don't tell' trap - occasionally I felt the chronicle read as 'this happened, then this, and then this' without any breakup or variation in the flow.

That said, I did love the info about Matari myths, and Jav's musings on ancient Matari migrations and intertribal relations.

The Station and the Bazaar

By far the meatier of the two, this was interesting in a different way - Abraxas, you do really good at putting life in to your characters' words; I could feel I was actually listening to the tradesman tell his story. You get a very definite insight into his desires, fears, and hopes.

Less speculation about the story in this one, though, as it's far more obviously related to past things such as the Gecko as well as just-around-the corner things like the Valkyries and the opening of Kronos' Guristas-vs-Mordus complexes. Good job tying all of those together.

'Yetamo' is almost nostalgic in the way it reminds me of how I wrote when I was ten.

Very nice chronicles, especially the Guristas one.

Small gap I found:
"...and when you're in the midst of change, you'd be amazed at how <-(many?)-> enemies you suddenly have."

are they available in a better readable format? e.g something what is not a wiki page with bad font on dark gray background?

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

Are Guristas really that good at managing scientific projects? Going by this chronicle they seem to be getting stable applicable results with obviously much lower budget than Empire-based corps like CreoDrone.

A lot can happen when you cut the brake lines and stand on the gas pedal of science with reckless disregard for any kind of safety or caution.

Safety protocols are written in blood. Because if you don't follow them you get personnel, equipment and financial loss instead of stable applicable results quite a bit more often than otherwise.
Now, if somebody said that Guristas are doing research in prohibited areas like True AI, or Forced Human Experimentation (conversion into wetware). or something along those lines, and that was what allowed them to have these breakthroughs in Drone tech, I'd be more inclined to believe that. But it should probably be written somewhere in-game, like ship/drone description.

I read those fighters/small vessels less as drones/Geckos and more as prototype Valkyrie fighters.

The narrator makes a point of noting they're something new, they're running what looks like live fire training exercises and that they're definitely (in his opinion anyway) flown by live pilots. Immortals make great live fire training test pilots, mortals not so much.

Pair all of that with a sidebar from Eve: Source that strongly suggests deep space Gurista research facilities are working on prototype Valkyrie technology and I don't really think there's too many other conclusions to draw.

Frankly speaking, any artwork would do.
