Noob in a C1

Evening.

I'm looking to try soloing a C1. Perhaps starting off just day tripping, but ultimately looking at moving in semi-permanently. I'm looking for some advice, or some materials I can read, to help me work out how to do this.

I did a search of the forums but couldn't find anything I though was relevant, I might have been sloppy and missed something though. If so flame away.

I'm a player returning from a several year hiatus, and due to several boring and complicated reasons I had to start a new char. I know all the basics of EVE but don't know the first thing about WH other than that they're a good way to sneak into nulsec to run sites there.

What I'm mostly wanting to know is what ships are viable for soloing a C1. Most people seem to demand a cloaked Orca alt and T3 but that seems like a bit of an overstatement to me.

I know that a scanning alt makes the whole thing a bit more viable, and I'm willing to consider it.

TLDR: I'm a noob who wants to try soloing a WH, can you guys point me in the right direction.

If it's daytripping you are going to do I'd suggest a simple passive Drake with a Mobile Tractor Unit and some Salvage Drones.

A Mobile Depot would allow you to re-fit your ship in space, which is really handy. Like having the ability to switch out modules for a scanner and/or codebreakers/analyzers.

Start with daytripping out of HiSec. Stai in the same area and have an industrial packed with a tower, fuel etc. Once you get the feel for it and you find an empty C1/2 that you could live in you just grab that thing and move in.

+ Always hit D-scan
+ Always bookmark any hole
+ Never warp an uncloaky to a POS
+ Always hit D-scan
+ Read up on wormhole Polarizatrion
+ Undertand that wormhole residents WILL try to kill you
+ Set up safe spots in a hole
+ If you move in a scanning alt in the hole is a MUST
+ Always hit D-scan

Have fun!

A decently tanked cruiser can solo c1's pretty easy. C1's are pretty worthless for a long term resident unless your setting up production / PI or mining. C2's have alot of traffic and the pay out for combat sites are also pretty worthless but great if your mostly looking for pvp (if the c2 has a c3 or c4 static it is a great balance for pvp and pve, you just farm said static). C3's are a great place to live if your solo or with one other person (although the pvp can be lacking). C3's all have a static null, high or lowsec so it limates your farming capibilitys a little, but great for easy logistic routes (considering you have a low or high sec static). C3's sites are great for isk even better then farming c4 sites in the proper ship and easier to get into thus ships. A double armor repping harbinger or passive shield heavy missle drake work great for C3's. If you decide that you want to set up a home and are going solo or with one other guy suggest setting up a medium pos with guns some ecm and a point or two.

Personally I like the Brutix, lately, for C1/2.

The fits are even mainly the same, for the most part. Though you'll want tracking boosts in C1, a second rep in C2.

c1/c2 doable in a few battlecruisers or solo in battlecruisers
c3 doable solo in a better fit bc, like drake in a pulsar hole for instance, but it begins to become a bit of a pain and a t3 such as a legion/tengu would be better
c4 well now were talking about multiboxing bs id imagine btu just what ive read/heard never done a c4 site
c5/c6 forget about it solo without cap ships etc.

rewards for each class vary
c1/c2 about 6/8m a site
c3 about 30m a site
c4 no idea i think like 100m??
c5/c6 trilions of isk, so much so infact every nullsec ratter and incursion runner cries.

These payouts are from the Blueloot, the rats drop bluestuff that npc's buy, im not including any nano ribbons (you get from salvage) because of RNG but presume 3m a nano, and well hopefully you get at least 1-3 a site.

so there ya go,very rough estimate on what you might make with combat sites, but there is more to wormholes.
Whats your static wh, can you roll it with an alt to farm more? are you going to be doing pi? are you aware of the varies class types, mass limits on holes etc etc etc.
to be able to function properly as a solo player who wants to establish himself in a wormhole you may want to start looking into this stuff. obviously pretty irrelevant if you just plan on daytripping.

oh and forgot to mention you cannot get anything bigger into our out of a c1, bc is the max, so if you want a bs or an orca in there, you gotta build it, those restrictions do not apply to a c2, just a c1.
so c1 bc max
c2 bs/orca max

drop me a mail we can have a chat at another time that suits if you want

You may find everything you look for (and then some) here:

http://www.fiercewebs.com/arcdragon/EverythingWormhole.pdf

And don't let yourself be fooled. A "decently fit cruiser" might mean something else for experienced players than for a real noob. To get an idea what is meant by "decent" look here:

http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Drake

Also take a look at the skill requirements for these fittings. You won't be able to survive or even fit a ship without proper enigineering and fitting skills.

Whenever you see probes or ships on scan do NOT warp to a wormhole in order to get safe. Instead do warp to a safe spot bookmark and cloak up or warp from safe spot to safe spot.

Welcome!

Daytripping c1 space can be fun, but stepping up to live in one might be harder. A lot of the "good" ones are taken by PI and Indy alt corps, and you never know when the mains will decide to have some fun.

Having said that, sieges in c1 are terrible hard especially against a dickstar. And the new blockage runners make logistics much easier.

What you will find is ok isk at best to support actually living there, and you will want to move up in the world. I think c3 space can be solod pretty easily, but takes a bit more of an investment.

Either way, have fun!

guys he is a newb (to whs and in terms of skills, he has some eve experience yes, but not in whs) with no skills, stop suggesting he move into and solo a c3.

get your feet wet in a c1/c2 put up a small/medium tower, try it out see if you like it, if you do then you can look at investing a lot of time and effort and sp into a c3 or something

For a C1 just use a drake. For a C3 use dual drakes or maybe a raven (haven't tried that so ask for more input). Some C4 anomolies can be run in drakes too but it becomes more complicated. At the C4 level you'll have to invest in ratting gear. At the C5 and C6 level that investment becomes significant, but so does the reward.
