If Albion is enough to stop you from breathing, how are you going to survive when Rebirth comes along next year?

I've played part one of X.

It actually was really interesting. I remember the long travel times,
which made it kinda suck but i kept playing.

Then i've realized how easy it is to make money, simply by trading.

Then i wondered why there's no online version of this game.

Years later, i've found EvE.

If they made that an MMO, it would probably rock.

Can't really understand why somebody would play it nowadays ...

Edit:
Nice trailer, but since EvE i really miss the point ...

2 different games with similar elements... I played Eve since 2004 originally and it's just terribly boring to me now. CCP has ruined it for me in many ways, but also it's just the situation of me genuinely being tired of the game. "Tons of things you can do" in Eve but ultimately it boils down to grinding ISK so you can go "yarring", or just grinding ISK for the pointless sake of having it. That said, Eve was great and I enjoyed it a lot in (what, to me, was) its prime.

Got into the X series recently for the first time, X3:TC specifically, and it was like a breath of fresh air. Flawed, sure. But the first time you start controlling multiple active ships, that's something you can't do in Eve. And for good reason -- because if they allowed that in Eve, the early vets would own and control most resources in the game. So that's one thing you can't get in Eve.

What else? Not having the universe changed per someone else's ideas for how it should be changed. When I started Eve, there were frigates, cruisers, battleships, indy's and shuttles. Now it's a cap ship game. Now space is crowded. Can I go back to the 2004 Eve server? No, I cannot ever go back to it. But I can always reset X3 and start fresh. It's under my control and no one else's.

MMO is by no means a replacement for SP. It's just a different experience.
