MacBook Retina + Parallels + EVE: Has anyone made it work?

Right now I bootcamp Windows 7 but, it's a pain having to reboot every time I want to play EVE. And its impossible to monitor things while I do "other stuff" (work)...

I've tried running EVE in Windows 8, under Parallels 9. This is on my MacBook Pro Retina (one of the earlier Retina models to come out, so either late 2012 or early 2013).

When I try to run EVE, I get an error stating that "Shader Model 3 (SMB3) is not supported," Sad and common advice on this is that I need a more modern video card. Not going to happen since the card is a) pretty damned new, and b) embedded inside my MacBook Pro Retina.

So, the question is:

Has anyone successfully run EVE on a MacBook Pro Retina with Parallels 9 (Windows 8 preferably) and if so... how did you do it!?! How do you get around the SMB3 issue / get the drivers / reconfigure Parallels?

Any advice appreciated. Thank you.

I got EVE running at some point on Fusion but i gave up because it was too laggy for exploration :)

Download the trial for fusion and give it a try.
