They are not hypocrite, they are EVE player who saw a market they could fill and acted upon that info.

You made the same error I did when I read the title the first time. You missed the word combat.

I like this, or maybe just that each slot has the sec status instead of the character occupying it.

Gets rid of an exploit.

You started playing last year, and you don't have the skills to avoid being ganked? How much skill does it take to use d-scan, join an intel channel and pay a friend a few million ISK to scout for you?

They call us care bears, but they don't understand that we are the ones who make it possible for them to build their ships. No, alts out in null harvest materials.

We might not be the ace pilots that a lot of the Eve community is, but we run the markets and the asteroid belts. If we wanted to fight in pvp combat, we would go to low or null sec space.

If you actually ran asteroid belts, you wouldn't have started this thread. If you are pre-aligned, watching local and watching d-scan, there is absolutely 0% chance of you being ganked.

Personally, I joined Eve because it looked like a fun space sim, and it's a good game, for the most part, but I recently quit because I don't want to deal with the suicide gankers anymore. I'm taking a stand against allowing this kind of behavior, and if I have to stand alone at first, then I will. It saddens me to see such a great game stained by the company that made it.

What on earth made you think EVE is a "space sim"? The advertisements for the game say that "you can be the villain". Where in the promo material for EVE do they ever claim to be a space sim?

Quote:

I know, a lot of you are going to call me a carebear crybaby, and what not, but I don't really care. I know there are others out there who feel the way I do, and CCP might listen if we all raise our voices together.

I know there have been attempts like this in the past, but we have lacked unity and persistence. I will persist when others tire. I will unite us when we are divided. I will bring the carebears together, and together we will crush the suicide gankers and wannabe Concord agents into the dirt.

CCP will listen to us. They will change. They will submit to the will of the community.

EDIT: I just saw that LackofFaith suggested that I should post this in another forum. Please link it. I don't come on here much, and I don't know which forum you're talking about.

Edit: Nevermind. Found it.

They have already submitted to the will of the community by continually locking threads with this suggestion.

CCP does listen to us, which is why your idea will never happen.

And Benton - some advice.

https://zkillboard.com/kill/40796468/

Never, NEVER have five expanded cargoholds on an industrial in high sec, wait...sorry, I mean anywhere.

Get your align time down, use rigs, and get a scout. Also, lose the afterburner, and if you have a free high slot, please throw a cloak on the ship.

Benton, get creative. Here is your new Iteron fit. I guarantee gankers won't expect it.

High:
Light Neutron Blaster II
Small Energy Neutralizer II

Mid:
Warp Scram. II
Stasis Web. II
Small Cap Booster II x2

Low:
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II x2

OP, while I sympathize with your request, removing all ganking from highsec would render the game boring and let people bling ships without consequences. While I also dislike what CODE is doing, the solution is to make certain tweaks (bumping, affects of having 10 sec status, etc...) rather than trying to ban ganking.

Not trying to pick a bone with ISD, but shouldn't it be locked for lack of content or something? Eve'Lite doesn't exist, hence nothing to speak of, hence no content.

I don't. Threads like this are why no one has any respect for carebears, cause every time one of us opens their ******* mouth, crap like this is what comes out. I'm a carebear and I'm giggling my ass off at "ideas" like this one.

I have never said what I am about to say before. I actually hate when this threat is used as a way of coercion, however I would quit Eve Online if OP's petition came to fruition. I mean, I would literally give all the "Can I haz your stuffs" posters my stuff and biomass all characters, completely unsubscribe and turn my back on a game and community I Love because if that day were to come, it would no longer be the game that I missed my daughters first dance recital because I was pinged for a CTA. No, it would not be the game that has plucked every emotional cord of my heart in a way that can only be described as listening to Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton having an epic guitar duel.

Thats right, Eve would be nothing more than an ex-girlfriend of a game, the kind of ex-girlfriend that makes you cringe when she friend requests you on facebook, and you remember 46 missed calls that show on your cell because you were taking a shower and did not answer right away.

Of course, I will never quit Eve Online, because OP's petition is absurd and he should feel bad for posting such a bad idea

"Holy ****, Batman! People are actually using their brains!"
"That's right Robin. Just as expected of intelligent people"
Eve is NOT an easy game. It tends to be easy to forget when people leave you alone. But as soon as someone steps on your little toe or steals your ore or whatever, there will always be someone to whine and moan about it instead of learning from it. The ones that are most successful are those that are capable of learning.

What you mean we actually have to learn this ****? Well, hell yes you have to learn this ****. There are no silver spoons to feed you isk, ore or ships. Although there is Concord in Highsec they may not necessarily be able to save you. After all that isn't actually their role. There role is to punish rule/law breakers. So learning to defend yourself is a must.

That's my 3 dollars for the day.

I didn't want to be the first to say it, but I agree 100%. If every carebear who felt as OP does suddenly left the game, there would still be tens of thousands of us paying our subs and buying plexes. If CCP were to give into the carebears, there would only be the dregs of the game remaining. If OP and his ilk really want to have no risk in space, they can go play X3.

@OP - If no-one blew up - who would buy your precious goods?

More ships are lost in highsec than low.

Without demand, your supply is worthless.

You have made a number of errors in the game thus far and suffered the consequences. Whilst this is unfortunate, it is the nature of eve. Screw up and die and learn from it. There are a number of ways to mitigate your risk.

Even if you dont want to engage in waht you consider "PvP", you can still do so: Denial of targets is valid PvP - you can take these steps without strapping a single weapon hardpoint to your ship. You don't even need to be the best at it, you just need to be better than those who don't.

Which brings me to my original post about knowing your worth - are you good enough? Can you learn and overcome? Or are you the type to concede defeat at the first hurdle and not endure?

In spite of what you may think of the community/players - a simple post in the appropriate subforum asking for guidelines on safe travel and tips and tricks will yield excellent results.
