Use of larger cap booster charges with ASBs?

Greetings,

I'm usually more of an armor-tanker, but have been looking at ASBs recently. I see that ASBs can use two sizes of cap booster charges to run (i.e. 150 and 200); what advantage (if any) does using the larger of the two give? I could find nothing in the description or attributes tabs of the ASB on what the effect of the actual charge used might be.

From what it looks like, using the smallest charge available would allow you to fit more charges, thus giving you more time before having to reload. Does using a larger charge have any positive effect at all?

There is NO reason to fit anything above the smallest charge it can use. Navy charges are smaller than regular as well so use that to get maximum amoumt of boosts out of it. Also always overheat it, you get more shield from it then.

Thanks for verifying my suspicion! :)

The only reason to use larger charges would be if ASBs actually boosted more with them. But they don't, so there isn't.

Well with heat you get it quicker, you don't get more. Unless you actually manage a reload but by then you usually have won or died.

If you are carrying both 400 and 800 sized charges [for 2 different modules] you can use them both. The advantage is more one of convenience than any kind of tactical one.

If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough.

Please Note: Any advice given comes with the caveat that nothing will be suitable for every situation.

Overheating ASBs gives you 10% more shield boost in addition to the 15% decrease in cycle time.
