Normally I link a generic response that I made about these threads. I forgot where the link was, and honestly this thread is just more of the same drivel. It's fairly safe to say that my posts have little to no impact on bears and their misinformed view of the game.

No, you're whining on the forum. Taking a stand involves you using the in-game tools you already have to do something about it.
:effort:

OP you should try another game, any other game, because your justification for the removal of PvP in highsec sucks, and goes against the very nature of Eve.

There are examples from other games that show how this will end. There where people in CCP who actually mentioned them as bad examples and why they will never repeat that mistake. Not sure if one of them is still around, OP's chances too destroy EVE with this unreflected idea may be excellent.

Sorry OP... but non-consensual PvP is a cornerstone of EVE.

As long as you are able to affect me in any way you want on the market, I am allowed to affect you any way I wish in the space lanes.

edit:

Exactly. The best, and most cited, example of this is Ultima Online and Trammel Server.

Basically... a PvP-free zone results in...

- an initial influx of subscribers... mostly people who dislike PvP (which only increases the "feedback loop" of "no PvP or unwanted interference").
- a mass exodus of people from the less safe areas of the game (because you would be stupid to set up an industrial base in an area where it can be destroyed).
- many of the more hardcore players quitting outright (because EVE is no longer the game they originally fell in love with)... others stick it out and follow everyone else (because that is human nature) and try their best to perform shenanigans. They quit when they find that their tactics have no weight or meaning.
- the market goes FUBAR. With major industrial bases all set up in high-sec and little to no PvP in high-sec... supply skyrockets and demand drops like a rock. Prices both soar and fall (due to massive inflation and deflation) and the efforts of the people who dislike PvP become fairly worthless (because they have basically lost their buyers).
- EVE dies a slow, painful death

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

OP, you essentially tried to walk through the ghetto wearing a suit made of $100 bills flashing a Rolex and diamond rings on each finger, and now are all butthurt because someone came along and beat you down. To compound your folly, you fail to appreciate the fact that the only one to blame for your loss is you.

Yes, highsec is the ghetto. Go to any major city and look where the most police are.

if you're a target to gankers, you're doing it wrong.

ccp wants griefing in the game. the ability to actually put your wallet where your mouth is in-game is unique among MMOs, and they're never, ever going to remove it, since it would immediately destroy the entire economy in-game to have a repercussion-free zone.

this entire thread's just going to be a bunch of month-old miners circle-jerking and QQing about how this isn't hello kitty online, though, so i don't know why i tried.

i make spreadsheets for pretty cheap. contact me for more info.

In that case... let us revisit and laugh at your corporation's recruitment promo. Lol

To be on topic at the same time (so this doesn't get snipped by the ISDs)...

The OP simply doesn't understand that PvP in every corner of the game is what a lot of like about EVE.. and even the DEVs admit that this isn't a game for everyone.
And the OP's posting history shows this utter disconnect.

He was dumb enough to haul a billion isk in an honourtanked T1 hauler, and he's apparently dumb enough to think that his idea is laudable (posted it 2x in GD Roll), and that CCP will change game mechanics to suit his pansy arse.

Okay, fine, I'll bite.

We need highsec and relative safety for the PvErs in the game. It is what makes the benchmark against which the riskier activities in eve (low sec missions, null sec ratting/mining/plexing, wormholes, etc.) are based on. We need it as a metric, and we need it because not everyone can always be under a constant level of threat of loss. Even some of the most hard core pvpers go off and rat/mine/mission run from time to time just as a matter a necessity.

With that said, the relative safety of such activities in high security space shall never be zero. This is a cornerstone tenant of the game, and unlike many other MMORPGs, loss in Eve is true loss. There would be no industry if once we got a ship or module, we had it for life (like some other games do). So the fact you are always at risk is also the only factor in your career choice having any chance at success (as a builder/indy type)

I don't know about everyone else, but I know that I'm not alone in this.

I'm tired of having my ships destroyed in high sec while I'm carrying expensive goods. I'm tired of not being able to retaliate against people like the agents of New Order because I lack the isk, guns, and skills to do so.

They call us care bears, but they don't understand that we are the ones who make it possible for them to build their ships. They don't understand that we are the ones who harvest the minerals, ship them, and sell them. And yet, they abuse us. The suicide gankers make it more work than it's worth to mine, ship, and sell.

We might not be the ace pilots that a lot of the Eve community is, but we run the markets and the asteroid belts. If we wanted to fight in pvp combat, we would go to low or null sec space.

Personally, I joined Eve because it looked like a fun space sim, and it's a good game, for the most part, but I recently quit because I don't want to deal with the suicide gankers anymore. I'm taking a stand against allowing this kind of behavior, and if I have to stand alone at first, then I will. It saddens me to see such a great game stained by the company that made it.

I know, a lot of you are going to call me a carebear crybaby, and what not, but I don't really care. I know there are others out there who feel the way I do, and CCP might listen if we all raise our voices together.

I know there have been attempts like this in the past, but we have lacked unity and persistence. I will persist when others tire. I will unite us when we are divided. I will bring the carebears together, and together we will crush the suicide gankers and wannabe Concord agents into the dirt.

CCP will listen to us. They will change. They will submit to the will of the community.

EDIT: I just saw that LackofFaith suggested that I should post this in another forum. Please link it. I don't come on here much, and I don't know which forum you're talking about.

Edit: Nevermind. Found it.

1. don't fly what you can't afford to lose, if you don't want to lose it all, make more trips, or use a harder to kill ship. Ganking has always been a thing and will always be a thing. Learn to live with it.

2. You can always retaliate, sure Code makes it pretty damn hard, but you can.

3. They know exactly who makes their ships. The people who have learned to work around their existence and profit from it.

4. If you do not feel it is worth mining, then stop. It will become more profitable for someone else who DOES still think it's worth it.

5. Why should High Sec be free from PVP? Risk is everywhere, not just where you want it. Welcome to Eve.

6. You are taking a stand against the fundamental design of Eve. Eve is about risk, reward and spaceship violence. Yet you wish to stand against that. Good luck with that.

7. CCP will not listen to you, this isn't WoW. This is Eve. If you don't appreciate what spaceship violence adds to the game, you might as well leave now, you'll leave eventually anyways. That or learn to see it's beauty.

8. CCP's position on ganking is very clear. I doubt they will change it.

What do you know, we already have this. Simply, and politely, ask a ganker how to not get ganked, and most importantly follow their advice, and you're far less likely to get ganked. Alternately, do some research on your own and read any of the many list of everything the gankers will tell you.

But once again I post this to people that don't want to listen, don't want to hear how they can make themselves safe. No, they just want CCP Mommy to keep them healthy and clean.

How does running the markets and asteroid belts and then getting ganked make you feel?

You intend to bring the carebears together and end suicide ganking with... a petition?

Remember that whenever you have a bad day in EVE, the correct reponse is "Thank you CCP, may I please have another?"
