Good for you! Taking the initiative and learning to PVP to put an end to ganking...

Owait, you mean, you wanna change the mechanics. Well, no, you won't see an end to ganking doing that.

Also OP, you are the reason ISD Ezwal always looks unhappy. For this you should feel bad.

I don't feel bad.
You should - upsetting ISD Ezwal is bad 'mkay?
In his defense, raising an ill-informed and terrible idea isn't a problem in and of itself. The responses are more likely to require ISD intervention as they are non-constructive. A constructive response is as follows:

Benton - While I appreciate that you would like to play the game your way, EVE online is inherently a PvP game. There are certain balance issues which should be addressed, but PvP as a whole is a core concept which EVE is modeled around. There are methods however that you can minimise your risk of being ganked, such as tanking and carrying less per run, and using courier groups such as red-frog or pushx, which would allow you to play the way you wish to play with a minimal risk of being ganked.

I disagree with you OP, I think it is fine, the problem is that you are transporting a Billion isk worth of goods in a <2m ISK ship.

If you don't want to get blown up flying around with a billion ISK worth of goods onboard, then secure them in a more valuable ship, looking at your killboard, you deserve every ISK you lost.

Covert Transports or Freighters would avoid most of the problems you have experienced.

Don't you think, if it was impossible to attack others in high-sec at all, it would make transporting valuable goods in empire way too risk-free ? don't you think there could be a negative side effect of going from one extreme to another?

No. I think that you lot are afraid that I might be successful.

See, thereabouts lies the fundamental misconception here. Nobody here is really afraid you'll be successful. We know better. You are what I would call a 'vocal minority'; you make quite a bit of noise and assume that the louder you yell the more seriously the world around you will take you. This is not so, and those responding to you are trying to explain that little factoid to you. Their voices are myriad, yours sings alone. Will you be the lone champion in the night who changes the world to fit your ideals of 'HOW THINGS SHOULD BE'? No.
That crap ain't happening. EVE is as EVE is.
Your failure to adjust to that and your indignation at the world not conforming to your perceptions of what should be are pretty much irrelevant. Right now you are only so much line noise... either adapt or move on, your cause is lost.

Come hell or high water, this sick world will know I was here.

*lays on couch*

It all started back when i was a kid. I would just be sitting around playing with my toys and my MOM would come out of no where, kick over my toys and make me do chores I didn't want to do.

What triggered my current situation was that I was playing EVE one day and a ship that USED to be called a MOM came out of no where and kicked over all my toys (my Carrier) then i had to go do chores (lvl 5 missions) to get another carrier. EVE re-traumatized me that day. Also i realized that my mother was a dirty hot-dropper and probably a Goon

Thanks Dr. Rem for your time!!!!

No, I don't. The valuable commodities are mainly found in low and null sec anyways. Haulers and traders don't go there because that's not what we do. We stay in high (and sometimes low) sec, transporting goods to places where they will be bought. We work to make it easy to obtain the things you want and need to play your pvp games. All I want is to do it without having to worry about being ganked all the time. The price of goods will not go down, because we merchants are not stupid. We won't lower the prices just because we don't have to replace our ships, and the people who pvp will still have their ships blown up, and will still need replacements, so the commodities will still have a high value.

Thanks for opening up Jenn. I'll bet you feel a lot better now. In the future, if you start to lapse, can I recommend bacon therapy for your woes? Bacon has been proven in many studies to solve 100% of the world's problems. I'm quite positive it can solve yours too.

What's wrong with being relatively new to the game? I don't pretend I'm rich. I know that I'm not.

Ehm. Yes we do.

Quote:

Good news: you don't. Just play intelligently and all those worries go away. Also, if all you ever do is fly stuff around in highsec, then no, you do not do any work whatsoever to make it easy to obtain things in the game.

Quote:
The price of goods will not go down, because we merchants are not stupid.
Yes they will, exactly because we merchants aren't stupid — a sale is a sale. If the choice is between making ε less and not selling, the former wins out every time. It's kind of inherent in how markets work. As a merchant, you should know this, but I suppose we'll add that to the list…

Quote:

No-one has suggested that there's anything wrong with being new. And by whinging over such a small (and laughably easily avoidable) loss as yours, you are pretending that it matters on the scale of things.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with being relatively new to the game. Newbros are always welcome. You do, on the other hand, have to reckon the nature of the beast that you are riding. Accept it for what it is, adapt accordingly, and then and only then can you truly enjoy the ride.
