eve is not a very good single player experience.

I disagree with that...
I agree that it is not a game that provide immediate gratification around combat for solo,players... it does require patience, skills built through trials and dedication to be able to play solo, but you can set your own goal and prosper...

Playing solo can be very fun, and tense at the same time, and is mainly for those that like very challenging odds... playing solo usually means that you have at least two or three accounts though... You won't do much solo with only one account.

If you fit this kind of profile, it is very engaging....

I hardly do it anymore, but until 2 years ago or so I used to do solo roams a lot. It was at the time when eve was actually Battlecruiser Online and there were great number of players doing solo roams in nano-canes and such, and it wasn't hard to find decent BC to BC 1v1 in quieter areas without getting blobbed. Un-scouted solo BS roams through low-sec was always a nervy affair too because you could get caught with your pants down in a lot of situations but it gave me thrills (because I enjoy getting caught with my pants down maybe?)

These days it's more cruisers and frigates when people do solo roam. I actually did some solo BC roams last week and although I lost a few BCs doing this, it was interesting because I flew Cyclone and it can tank a small gang and bring down one or two with you before you go down in flames.

You can definitely solo PvP in eve, but just don't expect any sense of 'fair fight' or 'e-honour' or whatever from this game. Just be aware that you are solo because that's what you choose to do, and there are people who make the exact opposite choice to yours and always plan to bring back-up. Neither choice is more correct or better or more glorious than the other. Just different style of play and preferences.

I used to be strictly solo, using no scouts, no links whatsoever. But I never looked down on people who choose to play in their own way, blobbing and whatever.

These days I'm mostly in a gang with recon support+max links+logi+whatever and find this great fun too. There is no one way to fly that is correct. The more different styles you can appreciate, the more you will enjoy this game.

I solo most of the time.

Confirming Black Rise is the place to be, bit less these days after the galmil push for total domination, but you can still find plenty (especially if you're neutral).

Also confirming that "solo" means you're solo, your opponents might not be. Sure, you'll get 1v1, especially if you fly not uber threatening stuff, but you might want to fit your ship to deal with multiple opponents.

Also, soloing in some badass corp home system's might lead to bad surprises, so i'd suggest avoiding those untill you have a solid knowledge of the area and its denizens

We enjoy doing this.

We find it is the best of both worlds, chocolate with the peanut butter. Sploding loot piniatas in the comfort of hisec without ganking, wardecs or time invested on infiltrations, and you don't have to trade ships tit-for-tat in the losec/null wastelands while you learn basic mechanics.

You can do it solo, or with friends, and its not just chasing interceptors around the block. Pimp juice, pimp juice for everyone. Why, just the other day...
