Gnosis - interest and cost

Hi,

The Gnosis strikes me as a very good ship, worth between a cruiser and BC in battle, with added advantages. All that for a relatively low price on the market.

So my questions are ...

Am I missing something about it (like no combat role bonus) that makes it not so good?

There is no BPC on sell, does it means there will be eventually no Gnosis available, or only a few at a high price?

The Gnosis was a gift and BPCs were part of the collectors edition package. That's not to say CCP will never release more.

Once you've got a high racial BC skill, the other BCs tend to do better at specific jobs than the Gnosis, since the Gnosis gains no benefit from a ship skill.

They are extraordinarily capable, especially for a beginner with limited SP.

The Gnosis is a good combat ship, in a very small window of engagements.

Usually it's better for the more "generic" ships out there.

Try and insure it, you'll see. Basicly you cannot insure the Gnosis, increasing it's effective cost. Also it's bonusses dictate it's a good ship for pretty much everybody, but not a great ship for anything specialized. Well, except fast-lock-tackle perhaps, the ship is great for that role.

It's a jack of all trades, master of none.

There's something to be said for being unpredictable in PvP. There are many ways to fit a gnosis so you're never quite sure what you are going up against.

I got jammed by an ECM gnosis yesterday. I wouldn't recommend that. Big smile

They actually make good light drone boats.

Kiting Gnosis is surprisingly effective too, when pitted against other battlecruisers. The ship has 15%-20% less mass than most BC, although it is not particularly fast by default, but certainly will have more agility than the others.

Hey guys.
