Patching taking several hours

I've been having this problem on my laptop for quite some time now; hoping someone can point me towards a fix.

Problem: Patches, even smaller ones, take insane amounts of time to download and install (particularly install) on my laptop. The laptop can take several hours to install a patch, where my desktop on the same network will take only a few minutes.

Laptop Specs,
A6-3400M
AMD Radeon HD 6720G2
8GB Ram
Windows 8.1

The game itself runs great on the system, it's only patching that has an issue. No other games have patching or install issues of this sort.

Any ideas? Pretty please? :D

What speed is your hard drive? Also have you tried running the EVE Launcher as administrator? It has to hash the files on your hard drive, and should store a cache of those same hashes, for later use, but if there are permission issues that the administrator might help.

Apologies for slow responce Atropos. I'm not 100% on it but I'd imagine the HD is a slower 5400 rpm. I believe the launcher is already set to run as administrator. I will double check both variables later today.
