Soooo.... I loaded up the SiSi launcher this morning to get the extensive log error file.... and now the patch is updating and installing. It's slow... but thats normal. And now I'm able to log in and play.

So I'm not sure what changed between yesterday and today... but Thank you!

I'm not getting errors, it just never completes.

I get a download, the bar reaches almost full with just a sliver, says installing but I gave it a long time, it just sat there.

Try running as administrator; it could be a permission issue saving state.

Could you put the whole thing on http://pastebin.com/ it's easier to work out whats going on with all the context.

It's in the launcher app data.

EVE/ Launcher/ appdata/ EVE_Online_Launcher-2.1.655130 is the original,

It's creating a new folder

EVE/ Launcher/ appdata/ EVE_Online_Launcher-2.1.824814 but the launcher never closes down, the EVE/ eve.exe isn't getting directed to the new folder. If you try and launch from the appdata folder it takes you out of Singularity, back to TQ.

Pastebin on an exception I get

This looks like it's some issues downloading a patch; can you clear the cache in the launcher and try again?

I'm going to throw some debugging into this to see if I can work out what's happening.

I've been trying to work out what's happening from the log you posted, and the best guess I can come up with is that you're ending up half updating the launcher. I say this because in the stack trace you provided, the EVE Launcher thinks it's updated (at least partially) which is why the title bar reads "EVE Online Launcher v.2.1.824814" but the operating directory is D:\EVE\launcher\appdata\EVE_Online_Launcher-2.1.655130.win32\launcher.exe ie: the old directory.

Now I don't really understand how this could happen, but I'm going to add in some logging, so that if it happens again, I might get more enlightening log information.

I just checked again and it's the same thing.

Something else I am seeing, even if I try and download from
http://community.eveonline.com/support/download/test-servers/

When I try to do install, the Install button stays gray.

It's doing it with both test and regular install so it's not version related. It's on my end, I just can't figure out what changed.

What shortcut are you using to start the EVE Launcher. As for the installer, check your available disk space perhaps, or clear out any install in that folder already; I don't think it likes to install on an old install.

I was able to right click the EVE_Online_Installer_825994.exe and get an Install button and downloaded the client from scratch. (using as admin)

As per the usual, make a shortcut to the desktop, add D:\EVE_Test\eve.exe /server:Singularity but as soon as I add the /server:Singularity it returns to the same problem.

Says Installing, never does.
Close it, the bar goes gray, says installing, never does.

It's a permissions problem. I've tried adding shortcuts to all exe files and adding /server:Singularity but no luck.

- New Update:

Using the full download from the Singularity, EVE_Online_Installer_825994.exe I went in to bin and launched from there. With the port and IP address aimed at the Singularity server, it took me to test server and I logged in to test server, no update required.

So this is the same problem we get on Tranquility with the launcher and the bin exe direct to EVE as a work around.

Build number has been modified,

Launcher is still broke. I can't download 6.5 GB every time you do a test server build update.
I don't know what to say.

I have in the past also had this problem with updating the test server client. I've fiddled around with all sorts of fixes but nothing seems to work.

It just seems to eventually work after enough attempts. I mailed you a pastebin of the error that I have had in the past.

Mine is up again. Because I have a Singularity downloaded client, I was able to add --server=sisi to the repair shortcut and it adjusted the build. The launcher still isn't working. I have no idea what that's about.

The error I see in the log you sent me, is a HTTP timeout exception, which means that the connection to the content delivery network times out when attempting to download data.
