Higher PLEX = death of certain gaming styles?

A year ago PLEX was "only" 500-600M. Today it's about 800m. However, isk/hr from most activities remain the same. I thought about re-subbing my dormant alt account, but if PLEX rises 30%+ each year, I don't see much point.

Multi-boxing and alt accounts will become prohibitively expensive later on. I'm wondering if higher PLEX prices are forcing people out of the game, and perhaps might explain why Eve's online population is back at 2008 levels?

I doubt it's forced people out of the game, it's certainly had an effect on alt accounts though.

P.s. If the game loses mindless drones who only grind ISK to grind more ISK the next month, please let the price rise more.

I have multiple accounts and NEVER used PLEX to keep them running, I rahter work a couple of hours at work and sub an account for a year.

Some would say we're better off without 20-character/single-player isboxer stripmining and gank cata fleets.
Some would say that more accounts is better for CCP.

However, because most of those multiple-alt account players are just buying PLEX off the market... which has already been purchased by someone else, so CCP already got paid, with or without the roving single-man gangs of belt-cleaning/Orca-boosted barges.

I'm not an economist, though. But I don't understand how anyone can do nothing but mine, and never interact with the community. At least Chribba heavily participates in the social aspect of the game.

If you want plex prices to go down.

Spend all of your hard on cash on plex.

Sell on the market.

if you invest enough real life isk the plex price will go down.

Chiming in as a single account holder.

The way I see it, higher PLEX costs only /really/ hurt the people who still think having heaptons of alt accounts is the way to go. With just my one account to worry about, and instead of alts relying on my corpmates (who in turn rely on me) to help make ISK, it becomes a heck of a lot simpler to keep myself in-game and PLEX'd up.

I used to pay for 3 accs and cover expenses with isk making activities. Since I'm not actively playing, perhaps skilling 1 account is cheap enough to do it with rl money. No need to replace dreads carriers t3s and whatnot monthly...
