does this reason make it so that eve would be better off without them? if no then theres no real reason not to make them obtainable

Geckos will be around for a long long time. I think its good that there are things in EVE that can never be gotten again. Spreading this out to things beyond the hyper rare and well guarded tournament prize ships is a good thing. Adding some way to make more Geckos would ruin that.

No. It was a gift. The theme appeared to have been a sample of the super-drone concept. If you want drones like geckos fly the guristas ships.

If you mean making all the other drones that are no sentries useless then yes

Are you suggesting that the ability to swap out to any one of over 70 different drones of varying abilities and sizes is not enough options? (And I didn't include FIghters or Fighter Bombers.)

Gecko's should remain limited, (and to be fair there are hundreds of thousands out there. They are not in short supply.) I would not have an issue with other 'super heavy drones' being added, as long as they remained balanced, because I view Gecko's as being OP with regards to their jack-of-all-trades nature. That and have you seen what happens when carriers use them?

Its just a seller's market to see how much that option costs.


You have the early sellers selling them now. then you have some like me and others in this thread who keep them on ice for later resale. There will be a supply of these for quite a while the take away. See that's how eve works...some people go for the cash right after release on limited items, others who don't need the isk right now right now hold off a bit and speculate.

Despite being a Heavy Drone, I can't help but see this as a kind of 'test' for a "hi-sec fighter". A sub-cap carrier (I know, that SoE ship) that makes special use of these drones....droool

The players had the opportunity to get more free geckos into the game, they kinda fell short though. stupid players.

If they do this, they have to make the SOCT cruiser and all 4 geno sets available through the SOCT LP store too.

Guristas LP store.
Gecko BPC 3 run 150 mil and 20k lp.

Problem solved.
This way LP store value of Gecko will be around 70-80mil.
Will they be rare ?
