What if you could dec. a person? It would be called a vendetta or something. It would make it so people in npc corps were not immune in high sec (to prevent noobs from getting decked and dying there would be 50 days or so before you could get a vendetta) You could only have about 3-5(the number is up to debate) peeps attacking you at one time. This would also prevent people from getting away so easily by joining a mega high sec alliance. So waddaya think? Interesting mechanic or encourages griefing? Or both?

A bad analogy is like a leaky screwdriver.

So you want the ability to be able to attack noobs/pimped out mission runners without their corp/alliance-mates being able to touch you. Well that's just stupid. (Hint, people are still often noobs after 50d of playing time, or even 100d sometimes). This just encourages greifing and reduces the consequences, nothing more.

Quick response is that this has already been suggested, carebears really hate it. No one has any idea what CCP is currently planning but it seems wardec changes have already been decided upon.

I don't like the deck mechanic as it is. Its too easy to hide away in a big alliance. What if only one or two people could use the feature on you at once?

Part of the reason you join corps and alliances is for the safety in numbers. I would be wary of removing this but still think people in NPC corps should be forced to play htfu EVE.

The one point I would make is if you are charged wardec fees based on number of members. as has been proposed, then you should get to pick and choose who you can dec as you are paying to dec people and not corps/alliances with this change.

Also.
InB4: move to low/null, this will kill the game, this will cost ccp subs, and all the normal carebear whines.

perhaps, but there needs to be change. People are always wary of it but right now the dec system fails. (other mechanisms could be overhauled too (bounties for example). CCP needs to make more crucible like expansions (i cant wait for one with new WH content).

Then, by all means, the entire Eve universe should change to suit your fancy [/sarcasm]

Honestly, this proposal would do nothing worthwhile for most people and would only serve to enable to greifers even more.

I don't really think it's a bad thing that players can "hide" in NPC corps, I just think they should be penalized much more for it, with much higher taxes or be automatically dragged into Faction Wars with players aligned with enemy NPC Corps.

As to Wardecing individuals, I don't think that's a terrible idea. I would definitely like to see the ability to wardec Corps individually that are within an alliance. The balance to both of these would be that the larger entities to which the individual or individual corp belong that you wardeced should be able to adopt the wardec at no charge to themselves if they wish, and I imagine many would.
