Dryson, if you want to fight CODE, ignore them.

Lack of relevance is their greatest fear.

Actually, I think it's quite the opposite. Code is quite relevant, enough so that they had to seek "champions" and form anti-ganker and white knight counter offensives...and even a blog. These aren't signs of something with no relevance..wouldn't you say? IMO, I'd say by doing all of this, you have made them more relevant than ever.

If I had a nickel for every time someone said women don't play eve, I'd have a bag of nickels to whack the next person who said it..

You wanna **** Code off? Here's what you do, grab some buddies, follow Code to wherever they happen to be ganking freighters, sit there in instathrashers or something close, wait until they pop the freighter. Then guess what? Shoot the wreck. Tears for everyone! Forgot to add after you do it, make sure to say something like Umadbro or equivalent in local. People love it when you say that.

If we were a for-profit institution, we'd care more. Blow up the wrecks if you want! :)

Just make sure you don't recycle the alt when your sec status gets too low- that's against the EULA!

You can say it doesn't bother you all you want, but I don't buy it Big smile. Be sure to try and shoot talos brutix wrecks as well, that lowers the isk efficiency of the gank even further.

The tactic is called the called the CODE Swarm. Basically the same as the blob the CODE Swarm would use Rookie ships fit with t2 modules to attack a single target.

the called the CODE Swarm

Tactic name suspect. Would not employ.

Signatures wer cooler when we couldn't remove them completely.

Can we all shut up and let Dryon speak? I haven't heard him saying anything this classic since he spent three hours convincing Uedama local (while we were ganking freighters) that we were goons and that we used (and I quote) "omni damage swarm destroyers" and that the reason we are so effective is because we "fly in formations" and that if the freighters would just equip a dc2 that they'd be safe.

Brain.... imploding...

I have no doubt that Dryson said all of that. His lack of understanding of fundamental game mechanics, such as what ships can even fit DC2's, is astonishing.

From what I can tell 95% of the CODE kill rely on a combination of

1) abusive bumping to prevent ships from warping off, which really should carry a CONCORD response

and

2) the lack of real consequences for -10 sec status gankers which lets them be career criminals without any real punishment other than a 15 minute timeout.

Fix those up and CODE will slowly disappear (more so than it already is).

Okay, nevermind then.

1. Bumping is not abusive, harassment, or in any way violating the EULA unless it is persistent against a single target for a prolonged period of time. Like, days or weeks. Bumping a target that happens to jump into a system that you're suicide ganking freighters in does not qualify.

2. So denying them quite possibly every other hisec activity that involves undocking isn't "real punishment"? What more would you have CCP do to them?

Also, you're underestimating the amount of coordination and logistics that must be done properly in order to pull these ganks off. You try getting 30-ish pilots to fly in an organized manner, fit their ship properly, and keep them supplied and shipped when they can't undock without risking getting shot at for hours at a time. You can bash what they do all you want, but nobody really has any ground to bash the skill with which they do it.

Addressing #1: No it's not, see the massive thread about it that spun out of control. But no it's not. Bumping happens, intentional or not. It's part of EVE. There are always ways to avoid bumping if the player is smart, oh at keyboard.

Addressing #2: So the fact that at -10 one can not spend any legitimate amount of time in High Sec without being aggressed by a police force is not enough? I mean you even stated that there is a 15min timer for a cool down that is already in place.

If you really understood the sheer logistic fortitude, planning, and communications that is needed for a gank, you would be impressed. It's far more complicated than you make it out to be, and is exponentially more so on larger targets. You disagree with basic game mechanisms that have been in place for years, and want to change them completely. I can do that as well! I suggest that all stations in HS are removed (aside from trade hubs like Jita because you know... Jita.) And move all agents and what not out of HS. Because you see then there would be all these wonderful things and stuff would happen. Frolics within space meadows! See how that sounds, because that is basically what you are suggesting. Please continue to post, it provides me with smiles.
