Why do we need to train Industrial & Science skills for JF?

Hello there,

i'm pretty new in EvE and started my hauler carrier, so i did train Charon and then moved further to Rhea. And here i've met the couple of unexpected surprises. So why do we need to train Industry and Science to be able to fly a JF?

As you read from skill description there is nothing related to these ships but still have to train them up and waste time on that. I do prefer to train Caldari Freighter to lvl5 vs those two. Of course the training timer is big difference Science and Industry have x1 and Caldari Freighter x10 but we have that for other ship classes to fly T2 you need to train T1 to lvl5.

Science - Basic understanding of scientific principles. 5% Bonus to blueprint copying speed per level. - Jump Drive Operation

Industry - Allows basic operation of factories. 4% reduction in manufacturing time per skill level. - Jump Freighters

So for example - remove those two skills from training queue and decrease timer for Caldari freighter respectively or something like that.

Thanks in advance for constructive discussion.

Science - Basic understanding of scientific principles. Maybe you need half a brain to operate a Jump Drive.

Really there has gotta be some kind of prereqs for flying a giant ass jumping ship. If it wasn't Indy it would need to be something else.

the correct answer is someone decided if it's big it needs to be a pain the ass.

a lot of ships are balanced by things like semantics and sentiment.

There needs to be something that makes getting into a JF take a while. It might as well be skills that an indy toon probably already has or was already going to train anyway. Both Industry and Science are rank 1 anyway, not exactly a big deal. Science V is required for anything with a jump drive, not just jump freighters.
