Alt spies.

Many 0.0 entities already do allow people access to their space. They're called "renters" and they're usually given sovereignty over a small sector of space and protection from the big boys in exchange for fees. However, renters are established corps and alliances, not random hobos in NPC corp because...alt spies.

So basically the fear that you would have an fight ??? I am confused..
Doesnt matter anyway...
You can actually fly in normal hurricane all across north without meeting anyone...

I live in nullsec. I Don't always shoot everything thats not blue. I don't care about neutrals. Think you have your numbers wrong, there are somewhere around 318 dockable stations in nullsec, thats more than 1%. See pre dominion providence for your answers to your last two questions.

And you are dumb, NPC null is better than sov null. Same isk, less of an upkeep. Also amazing for pvp.

A neutral pilot is an unknown quantity. You do not know if this neutral pilot is potentially friendly to you, just passing by, or is a hostile pilot who'll warp scramble you and call in his buddies.

If you were to hold off any engagement until fired upon, you'd be at a severe disadvantage, especially if this neutral pilot has a fleet ready to come in.

For exactly that reason. A neutral pilot could be a hostile pilot trying to warp scramble you, or it could be a scout that is reporting on your every move.

If they could dock, they could gain valuable intelligence on your operations, as well as gaining a safe haven from attacks. By denying them docking rights, you retain a tactical advantage.

Docking fees must be kept relatively low for anyone to pay them. If they are too high, it'd be prohibitively expensive to use said stations, and no one would pay the fees as a result. Yet, even with low docking fees, the volume does not make up for the risk inherent in allowing neutral pilots in your stations.

This has been tried by various entities, in the NRDS policy (Not Red, Don't Shoot). The problem with this is that not only are you at a tactical disadvantage during the first engagement, but you're also forced to continuously update a standings list. The fact that it must be manually updated means that any attacker would have a certain window during which they'd be free to do as they wished.

That said, there are some alliances that do operate freeports. You are more than welcome to dock in our stations in Providence, for example.

so the main answer is its easier just to shoot ever one and live in your gated community's, and then complain about about not having targets to Pew.

it seams counter productive in getting more people to come to null, you say you want more people out there but then on the other hand your actions clearly say STAY THE **** OUT

All automated intel should be removed from the game including Instant local/jumps/kills/cynos for all systems/regions.Eve should report nothing like this to the client/3rd party software.Intel should not be force fed to players. Player skill and iniative should be the sources of intel.

Ugh, stop being dense.

If you start letting neutrals into your space, it will become worthless to your members very very quickly. No one will be able to mine, rat, run plexes, or really anything; because while some of the neutrals might be benign, the majority will be looking for blood, and the unprotected PVE ships of your members are juicy targets.

So instead of going out of the way to make yourself prey - your alliance becomes hunters. You assume that anyone who isn't an ally is an enemy, so you kill them. Now your members can mine, rat, plex... whatever, without being quickly killed in their own space.

Null is about cooperation and teamwork, especially in player-sov space. If you want the advantages of that space, you're going to have to join a corporation in the alliance that owns that space, otherwise they have no reason to allow you to exist there in peace. If you don't want to join a corporation and work with others, then 0.0 is going to be hard for you. NPC space is probably your best option; but even there everyone who isn't blue is going to try and kill you.

If its PVP you're looking for, then NBSI is at your advantage. How annoying would it be to jump into null and have no one fight you because they haven't set you red yet? You'd be hard pressed to find a fight without shooting a neutral yourself - and if you're fine with shooting neutrals, why should you assume the alliance whose space you're in should play by rules you don't?

The reality is, alliances aren't telling you to to "STAY THE **** OUT" - they're telling you that if you choose to enter their space, expect to be shot at. If you're not okay with that, you can either join them or their allies - or don't expect to go to their corner of New Eden.

We go out hunting to pew. So we *gasp* open the gate, and go to somebody else's gated community, waltz through their wide open gate, and try to kill the people living there. If we were NRDS (per your nutso reasoning), there's a good chance they might be neuts to us, so we'd have to ignore them and go to the next community... still neut?... nurtz, can't shoot them either... keep going. Oh, other side of Eve, no chance they've been set red yet, time to fly back home and wait for a CTA.

That's what would happen if everyone were NRDS. No pew in 0.0

If only some people are NRDS, the NRDS people can never safely rat (or mine) because there's no way to tell a NRDS neut from an NBSI neut. So they never have any isk (or mins) to build fleets to defend their space, so they get shoved down and curbstomped by the NBSI guys, and most likely won't even have the isk to get proper reconstructive dental surgery. And then all you have left in Sov space is NBSI groups.

Hisec is what enforced NRDS looks like. Current 0.0 is what NRDS looks like after a few iterations.

Most nullers live in null because they like PvP.
